The Poem for the Beauties

三月三日天氣新港粱，
長安水邊多麗人蒂教。
On the third day of March,
So good the weather is;
Along the river in Chang'an,
Are there many beauties.
態(tài)濃意遠(yuǎn)淑且真适掰，
肌理細(xì)膩骨肉勻。
With decorous and lofty manners,
They behave spontaneously;
And they have neat figures,
With smooth skins so pretty.
繡羅衣裳照暮春柑贞，
蹙金孔雀銀麒麟。
They wear gorgeous maxiskirts,
With late spring scenery keeping harmony;
Patterns of golden peacocks and silver kylins,
With which the maxiskirts are not ordinary.
頭上何所有樊拓？
翠為（盍勹）葉垂鬢唇洁闰。
背后何所見？
珠壓腰衱穩(wěn)稱身赘阀。
So what are on their heads?
Feather headwears of kingfishers;
So what are around their waists?
Suitable chatelaines decorated with pearls.
就中云幕椒房親益缠，
賜名大國虢與秦。
In those largest tents in the center,
Stays the empress' relatives;
The two sisters of the empress,
Have the title of Kuo and Ch'in.
紫駝之峰出翠釜基公，
水精之盤行素鱗
In bronze pots boiling purple hump meat,
On quartz plates placing white fish.
犀筯厭飫久末下幅慌，
鸞刀縷切空紛綸。
Chopsticks of rhino horn stop being used,
For they've eaten much, being not hungry;
Cutting food with exquisite knives,
Cooks are wasting time doing it.
黃門飛鞚不動塵轰豆，
御廚絡(luò)繹送八珍胰伍。
Swift horses running into the place,
Even don't raise dusts or dirts;
The imperal cooks deliver precious food,
Not knowing those people don't eat it.
簫鼓哀吟感鬼神齿诞，
賓從雜遝實(shí)要津。
The ghosts and elves all become moved,
For an excellent opera is being acted;
Come so many guests and their servants,
Making the important ferry too crowded.
后來鞍馬何逡巡骂租，
當(dāng)軒下馬入錦茵祷杈。
Then comes a man riding horse,
Caring of no one and comes slowly;
He dismounts in front of the pavilion,
And steps over the ostentatious carpet.
楊花雪落覆白蘋，
青鳥飛去銜紅巾渗饮。
Poplar bloassoms fall like the snow,
Totally covering the duckweeds;
The blue birds bringing the love messages,
Hold with mouth the red handkerchieves.
炙手可熱勢絕倫但汞，
慎莫近前丞相嗔。
Those men and women are now in power,
Keeping with the emperor in good relationships;
Don't go near them if you are not important,
Or the prime minister will become angry.
