Radhanath Swami
The Bhagavad Gita tells, that for one who learns to control and clean the mind, the mind is your very very best friends. But for one who fails to do so, the mind is the greatest enemy. The Gita in the Bhagavad explains there's really no other enemies except our own mind.?
Booker T Washington, he was a salve... emancipated slave. When he was about nine years old he was working hard labor. Prejudice, persecuted...but he just so positive in his spirit he came out to be a founder of an institution, he got scholarships and such tremendous impact he had in the world.?
There's one statement he made that really moved my heart. It's what we're talking about. He proclaimed, "I will not allow any man to belittle and degrade my soul by making me hate him."?
I'll repeat that, "I will not allow any man to belittle my soul by making me hate him." He refuse to hate, even though he was hated. His perception, he was seeing life from a different perspective. He was seeing life not as a reaction to what's happening outside of us... he was seeing life from a realization that he found within himself.
