Since last time we mingled with people from Sinosure, we have been expecting to meet more people from domestic banking industry. Not only we could enlarge our friend circle, but also get chance to learn their business and experience.
Today we got a great opportunity to meet the management team from Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank (ie. “SRCB”). Some of them are the heads of different divisions; some of them are the senior management of SRCB’s subsidiaries.
When I dig their information this morning, I was surprised that SRCB’s top management team, both their Chairman and President used to work for our company. Later I leant during the seminar tonight that there were several of them were part of us. What a coincidence!?
There are thousands of rural commercial banks in China, however, few of them are as successful as SRBC. When I scanned SRBC’s official website, I found this company was very well managed. All kinds of information are published in their site as if they are a public traded corporation. It is true that they are preparing for going public even though it is bad timing now.?
In SRBC’s financial report, SRBC was described to be an ambitious regional bank. Their financial figures are strong and invested in a bunch of rural banks, in most of which SRBC is the largest shareholder.
SRBC’s team are experienced and we can communicate with each other very smoothly. I happened to talk to Mr. Liu, head of financial leasing company. After grabbing some food, we started our conversation covering the life and experience in the States, UIUC professor’s view of new technology and tendency of the banking industry, as well as the development of our own business.?
Just like Matt said, the university provided us not only the opportunity to communicate with knowledge, but also the chance to communicate with each other. Different from last time, everybody stood so that we could move easily and talk to more people.?
