As is known to all, whether the homosexual marriage should be legalized gives rise to a heated discussion among quite a few countries, and it also has been legalized in many countries like Netherlands, England and so on. But it is still a controversial issue in China. As for this problem, different people hold different views. But I am for homosexual marriage, and I assert it is badly needed to legalize homosexual marriage in China for three reasons. For one thing, to some extent, the legalization of same-sex marriage can protect the homosexual person from discriminating, and it’s their legal rights to choose their fates. For another, the legalization of homosexual marriage is a feature of social advancement and modernization. Finally, it plays a vital role in social stabilization and the construction of harmonious society.

First of all, the legalization of same-sex marriage is the right that homosexuals should enjoy. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights clearly states that people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Human rights mean that everyone can enjoy dignity and have have the basic right to have crush on something they are presuming. We cannot deprive of the general rights of citizens due to individual differences in their sexual orientation. They also enjoy various rights and have the right to go after their own happiness. Therefore, in order to guarantee their human rights, the legality of same-sex marriage is imperative.

Furthermore, the legalization of homosexual marriage is a feature of social advancement and modernization. The progress of the society not only refers to the improvement of the material living standards, but also includes the liberation of people's minds, such as the concept of freedom of marriage and the idea that school-age children are accessible to the school regardless of gender and region. It can’t be denied that the freedom of marriage also composes of the marriage of homosexuals. Homosexual marriage is an innovation of the traditional marriage mode, which reflects the development trend of modern marriage diversification, and has important historical progress significance. Consequently, there is nothing more absolute that the acknowledgement of the legalization of the homosexual marriage is an crucial manifestation of social progress that we should legalize the gay marriage immediately.

Last but not least, the legalization of the same-sex marriage can benefit to the construction of social stabilization. Family is the most stable and intimate social organization, which has an irreplaceable role in the stability of society. Family is made of blood and responsibility. People are restrained in the siege of the duty to their families, so they are bound to do things that will not harm their family and society. However, we should also realize that only two loved ones can create a happy family which can reduce the number of failed marriages. Gay marriage is a harmonious and stable family relationship based on love and long-term happiness concept, which is also conducive to promoting social harmony. Therefore, we should recognize the legitimacy of gay marriage.

In a nutshell, we should have a panoramic perspective to recognize that the legalization of gay marriage is the general trend. It’s a high time for us to recognize it for it is not only a way about respecting human rights and reducing society’s discrimination against homosexuality, but also it is a conducive measure to the establishment of a harmonious society. Thus, the legalization of same-sex marriage should be legalized in China.
