Last summer , I travelled to the UK with my friend , Lily .One of the famous places in England we visited was Stratford-upon-Avon-----William Shakespeare 's birthplace.
We all know Shakespeare is an illustrious writer , he was born in Stratford-upon-Avon , it is a peaceful and charming village , We visited his house , which located near the Avon River ,the sound of flowing water in the creek is peaceful . In his house , some Shakespeare's manuscript and his portrait displayed in the window .
Beside his house , there is a? building named "Shakespeare Center ", in this center ,it used some pictures , characteristics , sculptures to introduce Shakespeare and his works . among them , the most compelling waxwork is the characters of his works , they are truely lifelike , but obviously contrived . They also looks a little formidable .
When we saw a flock of sheep going home , we realised that it was late , We were so fascinated in the house that we forgot to book hotel , Lily had some apprehensions about night , I think we needn't worry about that , we would have someplace to stay .
Unfortunately , all the hotels were sold out , ?when we got into the last hotel , the ?boss felt sorry for us , bucause there was no spare room for us . we decided to leave , the boss stopped us ,said ' Maybe you can sleep in my room , and I could sleep on sofa ", he pointed the sofa behind us , we looked at him in surprise ?. "It's virtuous to help people in need ." he shrugged .we were so moved and thanked him very much .
