從以上幾所大學(xué)來看坷牛，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)，評估錄取的原則是全面性的（holistic），除了共同要求的學(xué)術(shù)成績（academic score）以外忙干，一方面注重對個人品質(zhì)（personal qualities/contexts）的看重浪藻，能夠利用現(xiàn)有的資源并能給學(xué)校帶來多樣性（diversity），另一方面從潛力上評估對社會對國家產(chǎn)生怎么樣的服務(wù)和貢獻(xiàn)（contribution）施戴。
也即是萌丈，招生委員會招的不是最好的學(xué)生，而是最合適（best fit for）學(xué)校的學(xué)生肪笋，正如耶魯大學(xué)所說的“Who is likely to make the most of Yale’s resources?” and “Who will contribute most significantly to the Yale community?”藤乙，誰能夠最大程度地利用學(xué)校的資源惭墓，并最大限度地貢獻(xiàn)饋報學(xué)校，那么就是他們所需要的人才划咐。
所有的這些，與美國一直以來幾近完善的教育理念不謀而合：
