Establish your own pathways in your brain for English learning
In the book USE YOUR HEAD, it’s mentioned that it’s the cynapses and junctions in our brain that determine how well we memorize. They are highly related to how our brains work. Every time when you are thinking about a new idea or trying to work out a new solution, it’s like walking out a new way in the forest. It’s really a challenging job for the first time, but it will be easier to do it for the second and third time. And gradually it will be less and less tougher. Thus, a path or even a wider road may be walked out day by day.
This is totally similar to nurturing our intuition for English. Our English language intuition can be fostered through intensive listening and recitation. At the beginning, we may not be able to understand as much as we expect, however, so long as we keep going, the English environment and sound will cause the growth of cynapses and junctions in our brain, which will evoke the formation of the pathways for English learning in our brain. That’s why we would suddenly find we can understand more when listening. It’s not surprising, but actually natural after you have listened English for enough time.
It’s the same with reciting. You would be definitely going through a hard time when you start to recite. But if you continue to do it, you will gradually find it easier and your reciting ability will be significantly enhanced, which is also because your English reciting pathways have been established in your brain.
