First and foremost, at the eve of this festival family members would get together and have a super hearty family reunion supper prepared by some family members. On average, they would watch the annual spring festival gala broadcast by CCTV, China Central Television while they eat and touch bases. Besides, folks would set off firecrackers and fireworks during spring festival. That is really a special treat, cos’ setting off them is usually forbidden by the government given potential harm it might bring to people, not least kids and worsening of air quality it causes. On top of these, people will visit and bring special gifts to their relatives and friends.
My family does all the things folks usually do to celebrate this festival. In addition, we hold our own gala every single spring festival. Each of our family does some sort of performance. Some sing or dance, others play the instruments, still others tell jokes or do cross-talk. We can truly get a kick out of this special gala every time.
