For someone who is somewhat perfectionist, I’d say it’s being able to do things to your taste. When yo work alone, you can work in your own time and at your own pace without having to depend on anyone else. Whereas working with others requires you to sometimes depend on others to meet certain expectations, have certain work ethics and perhaps,motivation, and even see things from your perspective. This doesn’t always happen as people are very different. There is also conflicts that sometimes arises when working in a group. All of these can be eliminated when you work alone.

There are many benefits of working alone, especially if you also have options of where you can do that work (home office, in a library, at the park, etc).

I find that the best part above all is adjusting your work environment to fit you. If you have ever had to work long periods of time in a room that was too hot and stuffy, cold to the point where your fingers turned numb or been assigned a desk chair that makes you body ache, you will know what I mean.

Working alone, I get to pick how and where I work best then change it every hour if I want – and I often do. I have personalized my work environment to the point that I rarely sit at a desk even though I do 99% of my work on a computer. At this point I couldn’t imagine working around other people or in an office where I couldn’t enjoy the work habits that fit me best. My productivity and concentration levels would plummet.
