Now I stared at this sudden apparition with my eyes fairly starting out of my head in astonishment .Remember ,I had crashed in the desert a thousand miles from any inhabited region .And yet my little man seemed neither to be straying uncertainly among the sands, nor to be fainting from fatigue ,or hunger ,or thirst , or fear .Nothing about him gave any suggestion of a child lost in the middle of the desert ,a thousand miles from any human habitation .when at last I was able to speak ,I said to him:
此刻我注視著突然出現(xiàn)的幻影，驚訝的眼睛都要掉了下來杏节。請記住唬渗，我是在距離居民區(qū)千里之外的沙漠中。但是我的小人兒看起來既不像是在沙漠中迷路奋渔，也不像是像疲乏的將要暈厥镊逝，或者饑餓、口渴嫉鲸、害怕蹋半，他怎么看都不像是一個(gè)在人類活動地區(qū)千里之外的沙漠中走失的孩子。最后充坑，我終于能夠開口說話，我對他說：
“But…what are you doing here?”
“可是……你在這里做什么染突？”
And in answer he repeated , very slowly ,as if he were speaking of a matter of great consequence:
“If you please…draw me a sheep…”
他非常鄭重的好像是在說一個(gè)很重要的事情回答道：
“是否可以請你……幫我畫一只羊……”
When a mystery is too overpowering ,one dare not disobey .Absurd as it might seem to me .a thousand miles from any human habitation and in danger of death ,I took out of my pocket a sheet of paper and my fountain pen .But then I remembered how my studied had been concentrated on geography ,history ,arithmetic ,and grammar ,and I told the little chap(a little crossly ,too)that I did not know how to draw .He answered me:
遇到如此神秘的事情捻爷，誰都不敢不服從，即便它對我來說有些荒唐份企，即便我在居民區(qū)千里之外也榄，隨時(shí)都有死亡的危險(xiǎn)。我從口袋里拿出了紙和鋼筆司志，但是隨后 我想起甜紫，我只學(xué)習(xí)過地理、歷史骂远、算數(shù)和語法囚霸，我有點(diǎn)為難地告訴這個(gè)小家伙我不知道怎么畫畫，他回答道：
“That doesn’t matter .Draw me a sheep…”
“沒關(guān)系激才，給我畫一只羊……”
