the 用在形容詞或副詞的比較級(jí)前, more代表形容詞或副詞的比較級(jí).

Part 1? 比較級(jí)的定義
定義：在同一類事物中兩者及以上進(jìn)行比較產(chǎn)生的詞形窿给，是由形容詞原級(jí)轉(zhuǎn)化而來(lái)拳缠。
【例句】The weather in Shanghai is warmer than that in Beijing.
Part 2? 比較級(jí)的表現(xiàn)形式
I have been trying to eat more food than before, but I am as thin as before.

more … than …? 比……多
as …as …? 和……一樣
【對(duì)話】
— The food today looks delicious but you eat even not as much as usual. Why?
— Well, I'm not really hungry right now cos I having been eating some snacks all morning.

less: little的比較級(jí) 更少

Part 3? 比較級(jí)的變換規(guī)則
在開始講比較級(jí)的變換規(guī)則之前马澈，
我覺得很有必要普及一下兩個(gè)概念：
單音節(jié) & 多音節(jié)
【定義】
單音節(jié)：在一個(gè)單詞中，只有一個(gè)元音字母發(fā)音
多音節(jié)：在一個(gè)單詞中弄息，有兩個(gè)及以上的元音字母發(fā)音
【變化規(guī)則1】
一般單音節(jié)詞和少數(shù)以-er, -ow結(jié)尾的雙音節(jié)詞,比較級(jí)在原級(jí)后加-er構(gòu)成
（1）單音節(jié)詞
如：small→smaller short→shorter
tall→taller great→greater
（2）雙音節(jié)詞
如：clever→cleverer slow→slower
The woman is cleverer than the man is.
這女人比這男人聰明痊班。
【變化規(guī)則2】
以不發(fā)音e結(jié)尾的單音節(jié)詞,比較在原級(jí)后加-r構(gòu)成
如：large→larger nice→nicer
【變化規(guī)則3】
在重讀閉音節(jié)（即：輔音＋元音＋輔音）中,先雙寫末尾的輔音字母,比較級(jí)加-er
如：big→bigger hot→hotter fat→fatter
【例句】The man in the middle is fatter than the other two.
【變化規(guī)則4】
以“輔音字母＋y”結(jié)尾的雙音節(jié)詞,把y改為i,比較級(jí)加-er
如：easy→easier heavy→heavier
busy→busier happy→happier
【變化規(guī)則5】
其他雙音節(jié)詞和多音節(jié)詞,比較級(jí)在前面加more；
如：beautiful → more beautiful
different → more different
easily → more easily
handsome → more handsome
expensive → more expensive
