Prologue
Before reading my novel, you may ask, “why you?”
I know you are picky:)
Yes, I may not be as professional as you thinkI am; I have never won a Pulitzer or Falkner, attending a writer’s workshop or being friend with a famous writer. Worst of the worst, to this day, I have not even published one novel.
But, my novel is not the kind of one you would randomly buy from a francized bookshop in your city to kill time in an airport or metro station – the one with handsome/pretty characters, dramatic conflicts and a beautiful ending. After all, most of those novels are not real or even based on a real story.
The one that you are about to read – my novel– is a true story. You may ask, “ why is it not an autobiography then?” Awesome question! I have asked myself the one a million times.The answer? Well, many nights, before I fall into sleep, and slip into countless feverish dreams, I would sit quietly by my ?old, mahogany dining table, holding a lightly-lit cigarette, allowing the swirling and twisted smoke dissipating into the thin air. I would ask, had my experiences in the past years really existed? or are they just like the formless dark smoke I am breathing in and out here,now and everyday, merely an delusion reflected from my crazy and overly-activated brain? All the Life and death, tears and laughter, despairment and redemption, suffering and survival, the expriences are so fresh that on many early mornings, I feel i would be burnt alive with them.
Who can resist a true story - a novel-like one?
