I was told that 'No trip to Cairns would be complete without a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef'. Hence, it was deemed No. 1 must-see on my travel plan to this lovely city. The cruise team I joined was Sunlover Reef Cruises, which provided thoughtful and nice service for a whole day.
Basically, there was a pontoon built in Moore Reef with a viewing platform, which took us less than two hours to reach including a short break at Fitzroy Island. Then we spent around four hours there exploring all the wonderful sea life creatures via taking glass bottom boat and semi-submersible, going snorkeling etc. It was worth noting that the basic snorkeling gear and a seafood featured buffet lunch was all offered included within the package fee. Due to a limited travel budget, I did not have a go of the seawalker helmet dive or the scenic helicopter flight, but I was told they were worth a go despite being sort of luxurious hobbies.
Thanks to YuanYuan’s help, I enjoyed an unforgettable snorkeling experience and I was also pretty grateful to Xujie, who lent me her clothes to keep myself warm during the whole trip. Apart from that, I have also learned a lesson, which is tourists can reach a more reasonably-priced deal via Taobao e-commerce website under most circumstances.
Well, another bullet ticked off from my bucket list, well-done!
