Summary for my reading: Chapter2 only covers 10pages so that it is much more relaxing than that of the yesterday. Besides, chapter 2 is more narrative than chapter1. Therefore, I spent only less than hour on it.
Central question of this chapter: In this chapter, Su's family situations and surroundings are given carefully. It focuses more on the unique talent that Su's families owned. I think the advantaged surrounding is the basic reason for Su to become a genius.
Words and natural expressions:
1. dash 這個單詞可做名詞可做動詞舅逸，在文中是形容岷江向樂山的大石奔騰而去桑阶，用了這樣的句子……makes a straight dash for the Giant Stone Buddha of Loshan.
make a dash for 猛沖芭梯，狂奔
He made a dash for the door.
他猛地沖向門口拇涤。
The prisoners made a dash for freedom.
囚犯們拔腿飛奔，想要逃脫。
2. illustrious 昨天出現(xiàn)了一次七嫌，沒有記住，今天又看到這個詞了苞慢，是在...The father was Su Shun, who gave birth to two illustrious sons...里出現(xiàn)的诵原，結(jié)合簡單的句子很容易就記住這個單詞了⊥旆牛看到復雜的單詞绍赛，我會想要知道它的構(gòu)成。
illustrious輝煌的;著名的
(il一再+lustr+ious一再光明→輝煌的)[luc,lust=light,shine,表示"光,照亮"]

3. junk這個詞本來是很熟悉的辑畦，junk food垃圾食品吗蚌，本意是廢舊的雜物，但在這里作為中國式帆船?講纯出。是個比較生僻的用法蚯妇。
4.obtain的話，不知道別人有沒有記過那樣的單詞暂筝，貌似很簡單貌似經(jīng)常見就是記不清準確的意思箩言。obtain可以拿get去替換，得到焕襟，獲得陨收，較get更加書面化一點。
5. a grove of英文中的量詞出現(xiàn)了鸵赖，我覺得這是最能看出所寫的英文地不地道的地方了畏吓，文中出現(xiàn)了...a grove of hundreds of bamboo trees....由猜測可得是一片有上百株竹子的竹林。grove有小樹林的意思卫漫，多和of搭配菲饼。

6. reckon的話也是出現(xiàn)很多次但還是記不住的詞列赎，拿它當think和suppose去理解就好啦宏悦。
7....who was sentenced to exile...這里的sentence絕對不是名詞句子的意思。如果讀過很多悲慘的名人的故事包吝，一定經(jīng)常見到sentence饼煞，作為動詞講叫做宣判，判刑诗越。
Sanchez was sentenced to three years in prison.
? 桑切斯被判了三年監(jiān)禁砖瞧。
8. spoil 這個單詞我只記得有溺愛的意思，在文中出現(xiàn)在...husked rice would spoil in wet weather...這里必然不是溺愛的意思嚷狞，做損壞块促，破壞來講荣堰，與ruin同義。有例子:
I don't want to spoil your fun.
? 我不想掃你的興竭翠。
Why do you always have to spoil everything ?
? 你為什么老是要把一切都弄糟呢振坚？
我覺得學很多生僻的生詞并不是學英語記單詞的終極奧義，而是把一個簡單單詞的意義用法弄透徹斋扰，學習它不同的表達渡八。
9. taboo 禁忌。
10. worship又是一個覺得很熟悉卻始終記不住的單詞传货。文章里出現(xiàn)了這樣的表達...and worship him in their home and remember him for fifty years...worship在這里指敬奉的意思屎鳍。詞典上這樣表達:
to show respect and love for a god, especially by praying in a religious building
? 敬奉（神）〔尤指在教堂、廟宇等禱告〕:
? They all worship the same god.
? 他們信奉同一個神问裕。
? a church where people have worshipped for hundreds of years
? 人們做了幾百年禮拜的一座教堂
平時用到worship可能更多是這樣的場合:

11. knew his onions 文章里提到這樣的表達，意為精明強干, 非常熟悉自己的業(yè)務僻澎。
12. 實際上在chapter2里，我覺得開頭描寫地理位置的一段真當是妙不可言十饥。語言平實凝煉窟勃。我個人非常討厭寫地理方位，沒有辦法把介詞用得那么地道逗堵。

我相信這段話如果考成翻譯題，是非撑遥考教人的能力的蚤假。林語堂這一段寫得非常清爽緊湊，僅僅用了一個句子吧兔，就刻畫得如此詳盡磷仰。
