Bluebell Woods
By Victoria Rose.
I walked in the woods today,
Over the tangled roots,
My feet on the earth,
Ancestral footprints tingling beneath my toes.
The sweet scent of bluebells intertwined with the woody aroma of pine trees,
birthing an intoxicating fragrance, that gently lulled my mind in to a meditative state.
My eyes, mesmerised by the beauty,
feasting on the buffet of colours,
the vibrant purple of the bluebells,
the woven green hues of the grass and trees,
the luminous yellow of buttercups.
I take a deep breath and marvel at the astounding magic of this place.
A babbling brook, the rush of a river, united, make a gentle bass for joyous birdsong.
My heart beat drums along with natures rhythm and in that moment, we are one.
Seedlings dance in the breeze, on the path before me,
on their sacred journey of creation.
I sit on a log and my mind begins to question,
how I ever doubted that the earth itself, is in fact,
Heaven.
