Winner never quit, and quitters never win. People who are gritty and tenacious are the ones who give themselves a chance to be successful.
You don't make it just because you are talented or smart, hard working and disciplined - you also need to be able to keep going for extended periods with an attitude that is rock solid.
Early in my career I will confess there were many times when I thought about giving up, or trying something new but I luckily I kept going. Looking back, there were so many temptations, so many excuses, so many distractions - usually from people who were quitters themselves. They were the worst advisors.
When I look at how people spend their careers changing jobs every year or even months, because they fail or give up, it's such a waste. You cannot quit just because things are " hard"! - who feels proud to achieve something that is easy.
I have worked for five companies in my entire working careers in the past 22 years. Now I'm not saying that everyone has to do the same , that's just me. But I have found that business love people who don't give up, who realize that jobs are not always a bed of roses, and don't run away as soon as something goes wrong. It allows you to go through ups and downs with people who will learn to respect you, your culture, team bonding, trust, loyalty, professionalism, and how this affects building a business. But most importantly you learn to overcome, you learn to win. And you learn to stand tall and be proud. So don't give up easily.
I wish all young, ambitious people to have the patience and never-say-die attitude to be consistent high achievers and to make yourselves and your loved ones very proud of you.
