This morning dad suddenly gave me a call and told me that he was sick in stomach (his old trouble). Yesterday night he was seeing the doctor in village hospitaluntil 9 o’clock.Today he was considering to go to town hospital to take a gastroscope and if there were gastric polyps he would let the doctor to pick them off.
When I heard the news, my first reaction was to go home and accompany him to the hospital. I thought town hospital was in limited medical condition, so I asked father to go to city hospital and if he want, the best chance is to come shanghai. But I knew his character and he was reluctant to come shanghai, even my sister and I were both in shanghai. I tried my best to persuade father to go to Xinyang hospital and I would ask for a leave at work, going to Xinyang with him.
Father was very stubborn and hard to change his decision. He directly refused my request and told me that he would work tomorrow because there were still many chicken to be sold. He would go to town hospital the day after tomorrow as he planned. If things were worse than he thought, he would reconsider to go to city hospital.
Honestly speaking,I always hold a worry that father would suffer a cancer in lung or stomach. He smoked since he was 14. I always asked him to take a physical examination and he always refused us. His stomach also tortured him for years and need a comprehensive examination.But he didn’t consider it seriously, just want to stop the pain.
I knew that he didn't want to bother my life. But life was very serious and if he miss the chance, everything would be late.
