這個(gè)故事是由繪本大師李歐·李?yuàn)W尼爺爺所創(chuàng)作的A color of his own 《自己的顏色》柔纵。這是一個(gè)關(guān)于變色龍的故事蔫敲， 變色龍也想有自己的顏色柬姚，和鸚鵡郁轻，小豬队秩，金魚笑旺，大象一樣屬于自己的不變的顏色。
Parrots are green.
鸚鵡是綠色的馍资。
Goldfish are red.
金魚是紅色的筒主。
Elephants are gray.
大象是灰色的。
Pigs are pink.
豬是粉色的鸟蟹。
All animals have a color of their own物舒，
所有的動(dòng)物都有他們自己的顏色，
except for chameleons.
除了變色龍戏锹。
They change color wherever they go.
它們?nèi)ツ睦锕诳瑁妥兂赡睦锏念伾?/p>
On lemons they are yellow.
在檸檬上它們就是黃色的。
In the heather they are purple.
在歐石楠上它們就是紫色的锦针。
And on the tiger they are striped like tigers.
在老虎背上的時(shí)候它們就像老虎一樣有了條紋荠察。
One day a chameleon who was sitting on a tiger's tail said to himself, "If I remain on a leaf I shall be green forever, and so I too will have a color of my own."
一天置蜀，變色龍坐在一只老虎尾巴上自言自語(yǔ)道：“如果我永遠(yuǎn)呆在葉子上，那么就我永遠(yuǎn)都是綠色的悉盆，這樣我也就有了自己的顏色了盯荤。”.
With this thought he cheerfully climbed onto the greenest leaf.
有了這樣的想法焕盟，它就高興地爬上最綠的一片葉子秋秤。
But in autumn the leaf turned yellow - and so did the chameleon.
但在秋天，葉片變黃脚翘，變色龍也變黃了灼卢。
The chameleon was black in the long winter night.
在漫長(zhǎng)的冬日夜晚，變色龍一直都是黑色的来农。
But when spring came, he walked out into the green grass.
春天來(lái)了鞋真，他到綠草地里去活動(dòng)活動(dòng)筋骨。
And there he met another chameleon.
在那兒沃于，他遇到了另外一只變色龍涩咖。
He told his sad story.
他把自己的經(jīng)歷講了一遍。
" Won't we ever have a color of our own ? " he asked.
“難道我們永遠(yuǎn)都不能擁有自己的顏色嗎繁莹？”他又問(wèn)檩互。
"I'm afraid not, " said the other chameleon, who was older and wiser.
“恐怕你說(shuō)得沒錯(cuò)哦！”另一只變色龍說(shuō)咨演。這只變色龍年齡稍微比他大一點(diǎn)闸昨，也比他更有智慧。
"But, " he added,
“不過(guò)”雪标，他又說(shuō)零院，
"why don't we stay together?"
“我們兩個(gè)為什么不呆在一起呢溉跃？
"We will still change color wherever we go, but you and I will always be alike."
“雖然我們的顏色還是會(huì)走到哪兒村刨，變到哪兒，但我們倆的顏色永遠(yuǎn)都是一樣的撰茎∏段”
And so they remained side by side.
于是，他們肩并肩站到一起龄糊，
They were green together,
他們一起都變成綠色的逆粹，
and purple,
還有紫色，
and yellow,
還有黃色炫惩，
and red with white polka dots.
還有紅底白點(diǎn)點(diǎn)的花色僻弹。
And they lived happily ever after.
從此以后，他們過(guò)上了幸福的生活他嚷。
其實(shí)蹋绽，我們的存在就是一抹獨(dú)特的顏色芭毙，要敢于做真實(shí)的自己。
