Two Goats, frisking gaily on the rocky steeps of a mountain valley, chanced to meet, one on each side of a deep chasm through which poured a mighty mountain stream.

Their pride would not permit either to stand aside for the other.

One set her foot on the log.
其中一只踏上了樹干。
The other did likewise.
另一只隨后也踏上了樹枝历造。
In the middle they met horn to horn.
在橋的中間甩十,兩只山羊相遇了船庇,角抵著角。
Neither would give way, and so they both fell, to be swept away by the roaring torrent below.
他們誰(shuí)也不愿意讓步侣监,于是兩只羊都掉下了懸崖鸭轮,被洪流沖走了。
Moral
It is better to yield than to come to misfortune through stubbornness.
