Some news agency and so called KOL never spare their efforts in wielding their influence over the intentionally or unintentionally ignorant ?crowds. But wait, this is a long existed situation, why would I choose to speak against it at this time but not before? It's not until my interests or that of the people who I care about are compromised did I find it so unacceptable.
And what would I do to change the status quo? Nothing, I suppose. What I can do right now is to be a responsible actor in the heating debate, to listen closely to different parties and to make choices carefully. Who knows? Maybe I'll take a different side on the same issue if the my stance changes. And I can't guarantee that I'm not swayed by other people's words.
It's understandable to see people's opinions are pro or against sth on an issue, but I'll reserve mine and stand up for it, even at the risk of presenting my opinion when being manipulated. But that exactly explains why I should make prudent comment on a topic, I want to be sure that I'm ready to take the heat when I say sth on a controversial topic.
