Schools dementia awareness initiative launched in Wales

A new initiative to improve young people's understanding of dementia is being launched by Welsh ministers.
Educational material on dementia will be made available to schools,in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Society.
Education Minister Kristy Williams said the resources would help develop young people's "understanding and compassion for people affected by dementia".
It is estimated there are 45,000 people with dementia in Wales.
Ms Williams said ministers were committed to making Wales a "truly dementia-friendly nation" and that "starts with education and raising awareness".
Sue Phelps,director of the Alzheimer;s Society in Wales, added:"These resources will help young people to better understand dementia and how to support people living wiht the condition in their family or conmmuntiy.
"Young people today have an important role to play and can change the future for people with dementia in Wales.

通過與阿爾茨海默氏癥協(xié)會(huì)合作,老年癡呆癥的相關(guān)教育資料將發(fā)放至學(xué)校曲管。
教育大臣克里斯蒂·威廉姆斯表示這些資源將有助于提升年輕人對(duì)“老年癡呆癥患者的了解和同情”楞黄。
