It was a classic night. The noisy Mexico City gradually calmed down. The main stadium（體育場） of Olympic track and field competition was enveloped（包圍） in the darkness.
這是一個經(jīng)典之夜涛漂。喧鬧的墨西哥城逐漸恢復了平靜。奧林匹克田徑比賽的主體育場籠罩在茫茫夜色之中检诗。
After he finished making the scenes the marathon winners received the trophies（獎杯） and marked the victory, Greenspan, the world famous newsreel（新聞影片） producer, found the stadium empty.
格林斯潘匈仗，舉世聞名的新聞短片制作人，報道完馬拉松比賽獲獎者手捧獎杯載入史冊的場景之后逢慌，發(fā)現(xiàn)體育場里已經(jīng)空無一人悠轩。
It was time for him to return to the hotel for a rest. He was about to leave when he suddenly saw a bandaged man with his right leg stained（沾滿） with the blood ran into the stadium.
是時候回賓館休息一下了。他正要離開攻泼，突然看見一個綁著繃帶火架、右腿滲著鮮血的人跑進了體育場。
This man ran lamely（一瘸一拐地） out of breath, but he didn't stop. After he ran along the runway for a circle and got to the goal, he collapsed（倒下） on the ground.
這個人一瘸一拐忙菠，跑得上氣不接下氣距潘，但他卻沒有停下。沿著跑道繞場一周后只搁，他終于到達終點音比，跌倒在地。
Greenspan guessed this was a marathon athlete. Out of curiosity, he went over to ask why the athlete wanted to run to the goal with such a difficulty.
格林斯潘猜想他是一位馬拉松運動員氢惋。出于好奇洞翩，他走了過去稽犁，想要了解一下為什么這位運動員要克服這樣的困難，堅持跑到終點骚亿。
The young man called Kowari from Tanzania replied gently, “That my country sent me here from more than 20,000 kilometers is not to let me get off the mark in the competition, but makes me complete the game. I want to run to the goal, though I have fallen behind all other runners.
年輕人來自坦桑尼亞已亥，名叫科瓦里。他輕聲回答：“我的祖國把我從20 000公里外的地方送到這兒來来屠，不是讓我開始比賽虑椎，而是讓我完成比賽的。盡管我已經(jīng)遠遠落在其他運動員身后俱笛，我還是要跑到終點捆姜。
But I have a sacred goal like them. I will run to the goal. Though the audience won't cheer me any more, my motherland is watching me intently（一心一意地） from behind...”
像他們一樣，終點對我來講同樣是神圣的迎膜。我要跑到終點泥技。盡管觀眾不會再為我鼓掌，祖國卻在我身后熱切凝望著我……”
Tears welled up in Greenspan's eyes. Soon, he spread the most touching scene in the history of the Olympic Games to every corner of the world.
格林斯潘聽了熱淚盈眶磕仅，很快珊豹，他就讓這奧運會歷史上最感人的一幕傳遍了世界的每一個角落。
巴德·格林斯潘(Bud Greenspan)是當今世界著名的體育電影編劇榕订、導演和制片人店茶，曾七度獲得美國電視行業(yè)最高獎項艾美獎，并且是美國導演協(xié)會中唯一以體育紀錄片獲得終身成就獎的導演劫恒。他為奧運會紀錄片歷史帶來了“格林斯潘”時代忽妒。故事里的科瓦里確有其人，其原型名叫約翰·斯蒂芬·阿赫瓦里(John Stephen Akhwari)兼贸。1968年墨西哥城奧運會的馬拉松比賽上段直，在距離起點19公里處，阿赫瓦里因暈眩摔傷了右腿溶诞，最終帶傷以4小時30分跑完了全程鸯檬。當時比賽結束已經(jīng)一個小時了，偌大的體育場里螺垢，只剩下場地工作人員和最后一批即將散去的觀眾喧务。短暫的沉默后，在場所有的觀眾和工作人員面向阿赫瓦里舉起了雙手枉圃，雷鳴般的掌聲經(jīng)久不息功茴。事后，他說出了奧運史上最樸實也最震撼人心的語言——“我的祖國孽亲，把我從7 000英里外送到這里坎穿，不只是讓我開始比賽，而是要我完成比賽×崦粒”后來栖茉，阿赫瓦里生活在一個沒有電視和電話的小村莊里，當問到他是否對生活滿意時孵延，他這樣回答：“我對生活毫無怨言吕漂，因為我永遠在奔跑！”
