Before I could reply that he was my neighbor dinner was announced(ready); wedging his tense arm imperatively under mine, Tom Buchanan compelled me from the room as though he were moving a checker to another square.

這一段話之前做解析摘取過，印象很深留晚。也可以看出菲茨杰拉德詞匯的運(yùn)用酵紫。尤其是Tom Buchanan的幾個(gè)動(dòng)作。

如同將一枚棋子從一方格推到了另一格子错维。

For a moment the last sunshine (夕陽余暉) fell with romantic affection upon her glowing face; her voice compelled(forced) me forward breathlessly as I listened — then the glow faded, each light deserting her with lingering regret, like children leaving a pleasant street at dusk.

晚飯期間關(guān)于Tom“讀書”和“管家鼻子”的談?wù)摵蟮那榫啊＿@里用孩子似的感覺形容Daisy橄唬，書中多方面討論其可愛赋焕，俏皮以及Tom對(duì)其不管不問(孩子出生時(shí)父親不知在哪里鬼混)。突然想到第五章Daisy去Nick的小屋是司機(jī)開送而不是曾經(jīng)自己開著超跑仰楚。包括猶豫不定的選擇隆判，最后肇事后依舊選擇Tom，這是一個(gè)痛苦的卻知道自己要什么的菟絲花一樣的女人僧界。但多少也帶有時(shí)代的痕跡侨嘀，恨不起來也喜愛不起來捂襟。

“I love to see you at my table, Nick. You remind me of a — of a rose, an absolute rose. Doesn’t he?” She turned to Miss Baker for confirmation: “An absolute rose?”

This was untrue. I am not even faintly like a rose. She was only extemporizing, (performing without preparation) but a stirring warmth flowed from her, as if her heart was trying to come out to you concealed(s為her heart) in one of those breathless, thrilling words. Then suddenly she threw(畫面感) her napkin on the table and excused herself and went into the house.

此處Daisy將Nick說成玫瑰宠漩，實(shí)在讓講述者受到了輕微的冒犯火鼻，但也有些說法--本書從這里開始用了很多紅或粉的詞匯，不過還真沒在意過。

“我跟玫瑰花毫無相似之處支鸡。她不過是隨嘴亂說一氣，但是卻洋溢著一種動(dòng)人的激情裆针，仿佛她的心就藏在那些氣喘吁吁的呻征、激動(dòng)人的話語里沐祷，想向你傾訴一番灾锯。”(選自巫寧坤版本暖璧，侵刪)

Among the broken fragments(殘余的記憶) of the last five minutes at table I remember the candles being lit again, pointlessly, and I was conscious of wanting to look squarely(directly) at every one, and yet to avoid all eyes. I couldn’t guess what Daisy and Tom were thinking, but I doubt if even Miss Baker, who seemed to have mastered a certain hardy scepticism, was able utterly to put this fifth guest’s shrill metallic urgency out of mind. Tom的mistress也是書中重要人物之一局蚀。最終陰差陽錯(cuò)死于Daisy駕駛的車下(車屬于蓋茨比)。所以后文才有戲劇性的沖突千扶，Tom was feeling the hot whips of panic. His wife and his mistress, until an hour ago secure and inviolate, were slipping precipitately from his control. 而這兩位女人在本書中的初次接觸便是晚餐不應(yīng)該打來的持續(xù)不斷的電話---這是最起碼的體面。整個(gè)場(chǎng)景在電影中還是很有張力顺呕，有種舞臺(tái)劇的感受图焰。

“Oh — you’re Jordan BAKER.”

I knew now why her face was familiar — its pleasing contemptuous expression had looked out at me from many rotogravure pictures of the sporting life at Asheville and Hot Springs and Palm Beach.

Nick終于知道Daisy的閨蜜的全名了堕阔。這個(gè)人物形象也挺飽滿浦马，不管是外形還是性格特征。但個(gè)人感觸: 這一群old money講究禮儀，貴氣坞靶，卻實(shí)打?qū)嵦搨卫淠木吕褐髁x拍冠。而new money不過是表現(xiàn)得更揮霍妻味、更花哨夾雜一些時(shí)代洪流帶來的迷茫罷了。

這一段描寫想起了下午初次見到時(shí)Nick的描寫:

It occurred to me now that I had seen her, or a picture of her, somewhere before.(It occurred to me...在小說中實(shí)在是太常見了嘉裤，“使我想到，意識(shí)到...”)

The wind had blown off,(風(fēng)停了) leaving a loud, bright night, with wings beating in the trees and a persistent organ sound as the full bellows(loud noises) of the earth blew the frogs full of life. The silhouette (輪廓)of a moving cat wavered across the moonlight, and turning my head to watch it,Isaw that I was not alone — fifty feet away a figure had emerged from the shadow of my neighbor’s mansion and was standing with his hands in his pockets regarding (…方式注視)the silver pepper of the stars. Something in his leisurely movements and the secure position of his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself, come out to determine what share was his of our local heavens.

這一本書中如果要選出最喜歡的部分假瞬，無疑是景色描寫。每一次讀心里會(huì)溢出一種平靜。不管是孤獨(dú)的，悲涼的，亦或熱鬧的滔以，煙火氣的拟逮。由于時(shí)間太久，文已經(jīng)略有模糊，原來主人公在第一章中就已經(jīng)以一種剪影出場(chǎng)了。盛夏的時(shí)期又與熟悉的章節(jié)不期而遇，很奇妙的重逢蛛蒙。

關(guān)于夜空的星星，讀了一些英文小說發(fā)現(xiàn)很多說法蠻通用的牵祟。目前為止有的用撒滿了糖霜掌呜，有的用黑漆漆的桌子上散滿鹽粒势篡，所以這里撒胡椒粉也就不稀奇了殊霞。只是莫名就從憂郁的讀書狀態(tài)中變成了喜劇的肚子餓了的生活狀態(tài)祝钢。

第一章就這樣結(jié)束疤估，有些細(xì)節(jié)比如Daisy對(duì)于孩子出生的話語(更多是說的自己)慷荔，Nick對(duì)談話中覺得Daisy的略帶真實(shí)卻言不由衷的模糊以及對(duì)其夫婦兩人的狀態(tài)不解都未提到，因?yàn)榧堎|(zhì)筆記做過就不再重復(fù)呢堰。

有聲書最近翻出了抖森的007-八爪女抄瑟，有空了聽聽。

《魔法師的外甥》已讀完(均是速讀)枉疼，有聲書蠻好聽皮假，最近入了納尼亞的坑，準(zhǔn)備盡量趁著情緒將這一套過完骂维。

天熱惹资，蟬鳴了一天。
