英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)中，確認(rèn)（Asking for Clarification）是一項(xiàng)常用的口語(yǔ)技巧卷中。通過(guò)確認(rèn)，可以正確了解對(duì)方的意思皆看，從而避免意義混淆以及誤解仓坞；尤其在談話中遇到比較難，復(fù)雜以及敏感的情景腰吟。
確認(rèn)的基本方法就是通過(guò)用不同的語(yǔ)言復(fù)述對(duì)方的觀點(diǎn)无埃，然后看對(duì)方的反應(yīng)。
常用的基本句型如下：
I gather your point is...
So what you are saying is ...
In other words...
What you're getting at ...
From what you're saying, I'm guessing...
You mean...
If I've got it right...
Do you mean that?
Does this mean that?
May I assume that?
Could you repeat that again, please?
Could you tell me what it means, please?
Could you say that again?
Would you mind repeating that?
I didn't follow that. could you clarify.. for me?
Example:
A: I am the father of an 18-year-old who is about to finish high school this summer. He told me last week he wanted to start his own business after graduation .
B: i am guessing you don't approve of his plan.
