Ning Zetao, the popular Chinese sports idol, ended disqualified for his swimming events in the on-going Rio Olympics, to the great awe of many viewers, including his followers. The halo above his head is gone and, inevitably, he is dethroned from shrine he conquored a couple of years ago. His dismalness and pains must be massive. Hardly do people can easily afford such free fall, though.
Coversing with several former economic counselors, I perceive that they have the same frustration. They experience a free fall onto the ground and have to start from Ground Zero while they still review their previous glory again and again. The fall from Top One to a simple one is a thriller and discomfort. You feel comfortable, even conceitful, when you are respected and serviced, and you feel easy when everyone says Yes to you. You are dominating when you are the decision-maker, having the final say, and you can have a big mouth, speaking out your own judgement and criticism, without need to worry about any fierce, or even mild argument.?
But everything has changed. We are not cruising in the air any more, on the contrary, we land in sands, and mix up with other grains of sand. We experience a transformation from somebody to nobody as if victimized in an avalache.?
As a matter of fact, when you are entitld as somebody, do not pay so much attention on your power, please think about your responsibilities. The platform you are on is an arena for you to serve, not to take.?
