We lower our own expectations of what we can achieve苞慢;
Many of these girls watched their mothers try to "do it all" and then decide that something had to give. That something was usually their careers.
When jobs are described as powerful, challenging, and involving high levels of responsibility, they appeal to more men than women.
Many women still see ambition as a dirty word.
They demurred and remained in their seats", they seemed like spectators rather than participants.
”I realized that in addition to facing institutional obstacles, women face a battle from within.“
There is no perfect fit when you're looking for the next big thing to do. You have to take opportunities and make an opportunity fit for you.
opportunities are rarely offered, they are seized.
Sharing emotions builds deeper relationships.
I look toward the world I want for all children ——and my own. My greatest hope is that my son and my daughter will be able to choose what to do with their lives without external or internal obstacles slowing them down or making them question their choices. If my son wants to do the important work of raising children full-time, I hope he is respected and supported. And if my daughter wants to work full-time outside her home, I hope she is not just respected and supported, but also liked for her achievements.
I hope they both end up exactly where they want to be. And when they find where their true passions lie, I hope they both lean in ——all the way.
