該劇講述了二十世紀(jì)七零年代撼短，蔣定邦因沉迷工作而忽略太太慧心，從而導(dǎo)致離婚乡小，兒子蔣子聰則交由慧心撫養(yǎng)阔加。期間發(fā)生大火，定邦誤以為慧心母子已葬身火海满钟，遂遠(yuǎn)赴英國加入警界胜榔。二十年后，定邦由英國返港湃番，再次加入警隊(duì)服務(wù)夭织。
