關(guān)于吉姆.柯林斯（Jim Collins）
吉姆.柯林斯（Jim Collins）是一位很牛逼的管理專家，和暢銷書作家馆揉∫瞪幔看過他的兩本暢銷書《基業(yè)常青》和《從優(yōu)秀到卓越》。在《從優(yōu)秀到卓越》這本書里升酣。經(jīng)常會(huì)想起同時(shí)也是對我影響很深的一個(gè)概念就是斯托克代爾悖論（the Stockdale Paradox）舷暮。

關(guān)于吉姆.斯托克代爾
吉姆.斯托克代爾（Jim Stockdale）诸狭，美國海軍中將（United States Navyvice admiral國內(nèi)很多翻譯成“上將”券膀，是我理解錯(cuò)了嗎）。越戰(zhàn)時(shí)期“河內(nèi)希爾頓”戰(zhàn)俘營關(guān)押的美軍最高軍事指揮官驯遇。從1965年到1973年的8年間芹彬，他被嚴(yán)刑拷打20多次。但他沒有被打倒叉庐，最終得以獲釋舒帮，和家人團(tuán)聚，并成為一個(gè)民族英雄陡叠。在被關(guān)押的8年間玩郊，他和妻子合著了《愛情與戰(zhàn)爭》（In Love and War），記錄了他們在這8年中的經(jīng)歷枉阵。
吉姆.柯林斯被感動(dòng)的是：當(dāng)他身處戰(zhàn)俘營中译红，完全不知道結(jié)局時(shí)，是怎樣做到這些的呢兴溜。在他的《從優(yōu)秀到卓越》這本書中記錄：
I never lost faith in the end of the story, I never doubted not only that I would get out, but also that I would prevail in the end and turn the experience into the defining event of my life, which, in retrospect, I would not trade.
柯林斯問哪些人沒能從戰(zhàn)俘營出來侦厚？
Oh, that's easy, the optimists. Oh, they were the ones who said, 'We're going to be out by Christmas.' And Christmas would come, and Christmas would go. Then they'd say, 'We're going to be out by Easter.' And Easter would come, and Easter would go. And then Thanksgiving, and then it would be Christmas again. And they died of a broken heart.
Stockdale then added:
This is a very important lesson. You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.
所以，我理解的斯托克代爾悖論：
堅(jiān)持一定會(huì)成功的信念拙徽，這個(gè)信念不能動(dòng)搖刨沦，就像是一面指引我們前進(jìn)的旗幟，旗幟不能倒下膘怕。但是單有信念也沒什么卵用想诅。還要做到直面殘忍的現(xiàn)實(shí)，不能逃避岛心，這是原則来破。
個(gè)人理解《肖申克的救贖》講的也是這個(gè)道理。
希望總是會(huì)有的忘古，盡管路途曲折讳癌，那些牛逼的人都有一個(gè)優(yōu)點(diǎn)，那就是在不利與艱難的遭遇中不折不撓存皂。只要希望還在晌坤，路就能走下去。
