Today is Tuesday.
Amelia Bedelia sat down on a bench for a rest. A woman sat on the other end of the bench, who looked very sad. They had a small conversation and the woman told Bedelia the reason why she was sad. Her boss had given her a pink slip, which means a letter of noticing her that she had been fired. Bedelia told the woman it sounded pretty. The woman told her it hadn't be pretty at all. Bedelia was sorry for her and told the woman maybe she don't like the color and her mother liked the white slip with lacy stuff, which means a white skirt. The woman laughed and told her her name was Diana. Bedelia told Diana she had been fired too; and when Diana heard she had stepped on the pie, she laughed again. They became good friends.
Bedelia's father suggested her to sell lemonade and she liked the idea. So she bought many lemons and started her new business. But, her advertisement sign on which writing Lots of Lemons was stuck right under a car market advertisement sign, which made the car market looked like a lemons market. And it was just shoot by a reporter of television news. So the master of the car market was angry and forbade her business. She had to go home with her many lemons. She was upset. Her father wanted to say, "If life hands you lemons, make lemonade." The proverb means taking it easy. But he stopped in time at the first half of it.
