Now I live in a big city, have a decent salary, lead a happy life. I must thank my father.

There are three children in my family, I am the oldest one. I was born in 1987, the two younger brothers were born in 1988 and in 1990, respectively. During only four years, three babies were born.

This was a very big burden for my family, there were a plenty of work to do, cooking dinner, making clothes and shoes, doing farm work, and nursing the babies……

However, the biggest challenge was the economic burden. we three children are nearly the similar ages. I did well in my study, in countryside, many many parents would not allow the girls to go to school, let alone go to the college. I thank my father, he supported me to receive a higher education, no matter how hard the life was. In 2007, I went to college. But at the same time, my two younger brothers were at age for marriage. My father needed money to pay my college tuition, to build wedding houses for my two brothers, to prepare betrothal gifts for the sisters-in-law. In another words, my father needed to make a great deal of money during four years.

My father was just a farmer, and had no special skills. He just could do some labour work. He did farm work in the field. He worked as a construction- building worker, where he did the heaviest work, had the worst meals, no matter how hot in summer and how cold in winter. He did whatever he could do to make money, and he saved every cent.

In 2007, my father and I went to register at the college, which was in a mountain city Zhangjiakou. After settling me, my father went to the train station. There was no suitable ticket to my hometown at that time. To save money, my father lay on the ground of the train station a whole night, instead of going to a hotel. Zhangjiakou is a mountain city, it is cold at night even in September. The cold weather and the cold ground, my father was badly ill.

During 4 years from 2007 to 2011, I finished my college, my two brothers both got married. All these owe to my father’s hard work.

Sadly, my father got badly ill, he had high blood pressure and heart diseases because of the hard work. Two capillaries got blocked. He had three operations in the past years. Now he is in good shape, but must take some medicine every day.

I must be nice to my father, he does so much for us, he suffered . All I can do is calling him frequently, and visiting him frequently. Besides, I must keep improving, and get better and better, so I can give him a much better life.
