Really appreciate to share stories, or say unpleasant memories. Sometime I thought there were a decent atmosphere among the IT crew or at least western one. Truth is decentness only exists between decent people. Another point is weather a woman try to behave in man's way or not, there is always a kind of discrimination (which I hate).
Why I won’t work for Google
收到 Google 的工作邀請(qǐng), 然后回了這么一封信拒絕了. 通篇看下來(lái)呢, 理由其實(shí)也是老生常談, 收集用戶數(shù)據(jù)啊,幫助政府監(jiān)控啊,表面上開(kāi)放啊卻給 CyanogenMod 或者阿里云提出中止的要求, 等等. 我個(gè)人雖然沒(méi)有對(duì)隱私不屑一顧, 但也沒(méi)有杯弓蛇影. 作者的一些訴求, 說(shuō) "Google is not what we thought it would be...it is not fighting for what’s best for humanity but for what’s best for its own dollar." 怎么說(shuō)呢, 我總覺(jué)得還是要牢記 Google 是一家商業(yè)公司這個(gè)事實(shí). 如果 Google 能為人類(lèi)謀求更好的未來(lái)的同時(shí), 創(chuàng)造出自己的方式來(lái)盈利來(lái)良好的運(yùn)行, 那是 Google 自己的功勞. 然而倘若 Google 做不到呢? 這也是它自己的風(fēng)險(xiǎn). 于是你期待著一個(gè)完璧無(wú)瑕的公司, 用著他們的產(chǎn)品, 卻完全不需要為他們承擔(dān)的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)負(fù)責(zé), 反而為可能的變壞 (或者說(shuō)變得不像你想象的那樣) 出聲指責(zé); 好處全擔(dān)缺點(diǎn)全是對(duì)方的. 這也太舒適了一點(diǎn)吧. 事實(shí)上上面說(shuō)的那些老生常談的抨擊 Google 的點(diǎn), 除了協(xié)助政府外, 另外兩點(diǎn)都其實(shí)有完全不同的解讀 (我覺(jué)得槽點(diǎn)是 Gmail 根據(jù)用戶郵件內(nèi)容來(lái)推薦廣告不是老早的事情且廣而知之了么? 什么叫做直到 Snowden 披露以后 "才" 知道? 這是暗示這種行為和棱鏡一樣么? 我也誅心一下: 這種說(shuō)法真的其心可誅). 有些時(shí)候其實(shí)六字真言也能奇怪地解決問(wèn)題: 用戶協(xié)議寫(xiě)著. 好吧是另外一個(gè)六字真言: AKKBKG.

雖然沒(méi)有看完, 不過(guò)真的是一個(gè)精彩的故事. 17 就做到了這種程度, 自嘆不如的同時(shí)也徒增很多的雞血. 最打動(dòng)我的有兩點(diǎn), 一是這位少年說(shuō) "[It] was the most stressful time of my whole life. It will help me as an adult in the future because I learned how to be [stressed]. Now I understand adults completely." 其實(shí)即使這個(gè)項(xiàng)目最后沒(méi)有成功, 僅這段經(jīng)歷就足以使他在不遠(yuǎn)的未來(lái)再次成功. 二是他早期的合作伙伴 (某公司 CEO) 說(shuō)的 "I knew he was extremely smart and just talking to him I could tell he had a good business sense and had done a lot of research on the game and understood his target market." 一味強(qiáng)調(diào)努力也過(guò)于偏激, 成功還是需要方法的.

又學(xué)到了新知識(shí) (完全不知道有沒(méi)有機(jī)會(huì)以及什么時(shí)候能用到). 另外類(lèi)似的觀點(diǎn)還有一個(gè)前陣子流行的, 說(shuō)法類(lèi)似是在事件發(fā)生 10 分鐘后發(fā)出的相關(guān)的 tweets 都是沒(méi)有價(jià)值的. Think about it.
On the Cutting Edge of Musical Innovation
其實(shí)是標(biāo)題黨, 或者我完全沒(méi)有看出哪里有 cutting edge. 不過(guò)因?yàn)椴惶P(guān)注選秀綜藝節(jié)目, 所以里面介紹的 William Close 和他的 Earth Harp 我還是第一次知道和看到, 必須承認(rèn)確實(shí)有震撼力. 另外那個(gè) Orb Drums 和之前一個(gè)看到過(guò)的打擊樂(lè)器很像啊, 都是利用奇特的共振發(fā)出美妙的泛音(?). 之前看到的那個(gè)還蠻貴的, 似乎是 3W 刀左右還要等, 只是名字一時(shí)想不起啊來(lái)了.
