本課重點：學(xué)習(xí)一些提建議、提供幫助和請求別人幫助時的用語呀潭。

1. May I put it here?

起飛前备籽，旅客上飛機(jī)冀续，找到座位，放下手提行李……
Air Hostess: Is this your bag, sir?
Francis: Yes, it is.
Air Hostess: You can't put it there, sir.
Francis: May I put it here?
Air Hostess: I'm afraid not.
Francis: May I put it here?
Air Hostess: Yes, of course.
Passenger: Can I smoking here?
Francis: Yes, I think so.
Air Hostess: Please don't smoke, sir. You can't smoke now. I'm afraid. Look at the sign.
Passenger: Sorry. I don't understand.
Air Hostess: You can't smoke now. Look at the sign. It says 'No smoking'.
Passenger: I'm sorry. I'm very sorry. ( To Francis ) May I?

女乘務(wù)員：這是您的包嗎熔萧，先生糖驴？
弗朗西斯：是的。
女乘務(wù)員：您不能把包放在那上面哪痰，先生遂赠。
弗朗西斯：可以放在這兒嗎？
女乘務(wù)員：不行晌杰。

旅客：對不起，我不明白。
女乘務(wù)員：您現(xiàn)在不能吸煙辛块∨吓桑看這信號，上面寫著“請勿吸煙”润绵。
旅客：抱歉线椰，我十分抱歉。（對弗朗西斯）可以嗎尘盼？

注1. air hostess 是民航飛機(jī)上的女乘務(wù)員憨愉。空勤女乘務(wù)員也可稱作 stewardess /?stju???des/ 卿捎。
汪2. No smoking 是告示用語配紫，意為：禁止吸煙。又如：No parking. （不準(zhǔn)停車娇澎。）No entry. （不得入內(nèi)笨蚁。）
注3. 請求對方允許說：May I? 也可以說：can I? 但用 may 更正式一些，也更婉轉(zhuǎn)一些趟庄。如：May I put it here? 否定對方的請求時，不說 May not伪很，而說 You can't put it here. 更客氣一點可以說：I'm afraid you can't. 或者簡單地說：I'm afaid not. 如果同意對方的請求戚啥，就說：Yes, of course. 或者：Yes, certainly. *
注4. up here 這上面。在 here 或 there 前面加上一個副詞以進(jìn)一步表示方向锉试。如：Can I put it up here? （能放在這上面嗎猫十？）Can I put it down there? （他放在下面嗎？）Please put it over there.（請放到那邊去呆盖。）

2. May I have a glass of gin and tonic, please?

安琪拉來到酒吧拖云。
Angela: Waiter.
Waiter: Yes, madam.
Angela: May I have a glass of white wine, please?
Waiter: Certainly, madam. Here you are, madam.
Angela: Thank you. A drink for you, Mary?
Mary: Yes, please. May I have a glass of white wine too, please?
Angela: Yes, of course. Waiter, would you get me another glass of white wine, please?
Waiter: Another glass of white wine. Certainly.

安琪拉：服務(wù)員。
服務(wù)員：噯应又，太太宙项。
安琪拉：請給我一杯白葡萄酒，好嗎株扛？
服務(wù)員：當(dāng)然可以尤筐，太太。您的酒洞就，太太盆繁。
安琪拉：謝謝，給你也來一杯嗎旬蟋，瑪麗油昂？
瑪麗：好的。我也來一杯白葡萄酒，好嗎冕碟？
安琪拉：當(dāng)然好啊拦惋。服務(wù)員，請給我再來一杯白葡萄酒鸣哀。
服務(wù)員：再來一杯白葡萄酒架忌。行。

注5. 買東西或在飯店點酒菜時我衬，可以用下列兩種客氣的說法：
May I have a glass of white wine?
Would you get me a gin and tonic, please?
酒本是不可數(shù)名詞叹放，a white wine 表示一份白葡萄酒，another white wine 則表示再來一份酒（另一份酒）挠羔。
gin and tonic 是加礦泉水的杜松子酒井仰。
注6. too 意思是也，用于肯定句破加，常放在句尾俱恶。如：
I want a glass of white wine, too. （我也要一份白葡萄酒。）
Shall I get you a beer, too. （也給你來一份啤酒嗎范舀？）
I like it very much, too. （我也很喜歡它合是。）
注7. to get 的基本意思是“得到”，“拿到”锭环，“取得”等聪全。如：
Would you get a taxe for me, please? （請給我叫一輛出租汽車。）
get 常要求有兩個賓語辅辩，一個指人难礼，說明拿給誰，叫做間接賓語玫锋；一個指物蛾茉，說明拿什么東西，叫做直接賓語撩鹿。英語中此種動詞還有一些谦炬，如 give 等。例：
I'll get you （間接賓語）another drink（直接賓語）.
Give me （間接賓語） a glass of wine（直接賓語）.

3. Let's go to a restaurant.

瑪麗和鮑勃在酒吧三痰，已經(jīng)喝了不少酒了吧寺。……
Mary: What shall we do the evening?
Bob: I don't know.
Mary: Let's go to the cinema.
Bob: No, not this evening. Les't stay here.
Mary: No. Let's go to a restaurant. Shall we go to an Italian restaurant?
Bob: Which one?
Mary: Franco's. I like Franco's.
Bob: I don't like Franco's. I'm afraid. And don't like Italian food very much. I prefer Chinese food.
Mary: All right. Let's go to Chinese restaurant. Is there one near here?
Bob: I don't think so.
Mary: All right. Shall we have another drink?
Bob: Yes. Let's have another drink.

瑪麗：今天晚上我們干什么散劫？
鮑勃：我不知道稚机。
瑪麗：我們?nèi)タ措娪鞍伞?br> 鮑勃：不，今晚上不去获搏。咱們就呆在這兒吧赖条。
瑪麗：不失乾。咱們?nèi)ワ堭^吧。咱們到一家意大利飯館去纬乍，好嗎碱茁？

注8. 提建議的時候這么說：Let‘ …（Let's = Let us）顷霹。如：Let's to the radio. （咱們聽收音機(jī)吧。）Let's go home.（我們回家吧击吱。）
注9. not 也可以不和動詞一起用泼返，這種情況常常出現(xiàn)在省略句中，通常是答話姨拥。如：Shall we go to this evening? No, not this evenong.
注10. Franco's = Franco's restaurant，飯館渠鸽、理發(fā)店等店家的名稱可以用這樣的省略稱呼叫乌。如：Smith's（史密斯的店鋪）。

B. Exercise

1. 電視節(jié)目中有這么一段：在公園里徽缚，一個姑娘和一個頹廢派年輕人受到了公園管理人員的批評憨奸，請說出：公園管理人員不讓姑娘干什么？他說不讓那個頹廢人點火的理由是什么凿试？請仔細(xì)聽排宰，然后對照下面這倆對話。請多聽幾編那婉，注意那公園管理人員那生氣 的語調(diào)板甘。
   Park-keeper: Please don't sit there. Look at the sign.
   Girl: I'm afraid I'don't understand.
   Park-keeper: Look at the sign. It say "Please keep off the grass." You can't sit on the grass. But you can sit on the here.
   Girl: Sorry.
   Park-keeper: Hey! Don't do that! You can't do that in the park. It's dangerous.
   Hippie: Sorry.

2. 在錄音中有這一段對話，夫婦兩人在商量是去看電影還是在家看電視详炬，聽詳細(xì)后請回答：他們商量的結(jié)果是什么盐类？丈夫希望妻子穿什么顏色的服裝出去？完成下列對話，然后找個學(xué)友一起練習(xí)對話在跳。
   Wife: Shall I ?
   Husband: No, thinks. Would ?
   Wife: Oh, yes, of course. Just a moment. tonight?
   Husband: No. and watch television.
   Wife: We always watch television.
   Husband: Oh, all right. We'll go to the cinema. But don't wear your dress.
   Wife: Shall ?
   Husband: Yes, I like your dress.
   Wife: Here is your cup of tea.

3. 學(xué)學(xué)練練枪萄。先學(xué)習(xí)：
   (1) 請求允許：May ( Can ) I put my suitcase here?
   (2) 要求：Would ( Will ) you follow me, please?
   (3) 提供幫助：Shall ( Can ) I get you a drink?
   (4) 建議：Shall we go to the cinema? Let's go to the cinema.
   然后用 may，can猫妙，would瓷翻，will 或 shall 填空：
   (1) you put your suitcase there, please?
   (2) we listen to the radio?
   (3) I sit here, please?
   (4) you come in, please?
   (5) I bring you the bill, sir?
   (6) you get me another gin and tonic, please?
   (7) we go home?
   (8) I smoke here?

4. 注意 get 后面的 me 和 you 。
   要求：
   Would you get me another drink?
   Would you give me your address?
   提供幫助：
   Shall I get you another drink?
   Can I give you my adresse?
   遇到下列情況割坠，你該怎么說：
   (1) 你在餐廳或灑吧想吃要賬單付款齐帚。就說：Would you bring me the bill, please?
   (2) 你想要一只干凈的杯子。就說：Would you get me a clean cup, please?
   (3) 你要幫助某人拿到胡椒韭脊。就說：Can I get you the pepper?
   (4) 你想要一輛出租汽車童谒。就說：Will you get me a taxi, please?
   (5) 你想給某人遞一個三明治。就說：Shall I get you a sandwich?
   (6) 你想知道某人的地址沪羔。就說：Would you give me your address, please?
   (7) 你還要一杯水饥伊。就說：Would you get me another glass of water, please?

(1) 請求允許：May I? 或 May I …洛巢？
