#2024.1.27 Live by Belief?
The world has no fixed appearance; what you believe it to be is what it is.
Authoritative statements, after long dissemination, are overthrown, revealing that what they said was not the truth, but merely widely spread to make us believe it.
Due to the untimely acquisition of information and the deep-rooted nature of previous statements, confirmed falsehoods remain as beliefs in some people's hearts, guiding their decision-making.
Just like a stone thrown into water, it creates ripples. At this moment, the stone has settled at the bottom, but the ripples continue, ever present.
At some point, we realize that what we firmly believed in does not exist, and it's a long time before we can accept it. So, we simply assume it to be true, that it exists, to bring us some peace of mind.
Or perhaps, we never noticed the problem and continue to live a happy and fulfilling life as before. This layer of happiness may be thin, but it has never been punctured.
Do we seem to live by belief, by faith?
