In these chapters, there's a turning point. All positive parts of the "Queen", actually became the white witch. He was a bit regretted and even wanted to compensate with Peter. How he wished all of those were a dream, but all of it was true.? I think the author portraits each character very well. The white witch turns easily: fulfilling her demands, she becomes happy and failing her wishes, she won't even pretend to show you a happy face. Another example is the dwarf :
The dwarf went away and presently returned bringing an iron bowl with some water in it and an iron plate with a hunk of dry bread on it. He grinned in a repulsive manner as he set them down on the floor beside Edmund and said: “Turkish Delight for the little Prince. Ha! Ha! Ha!
The image of such a dwarf just come in front of me!
The story, however, goes a little steadily. I couldn't find any interesting or exciting elements in even Peter's first battle. It's sort of plain.

If you pluck up the courage to do something that you feel nervous about, you make an effort to be brave enough to do it. 鼓起勇氣
And he had heard the conversation, and hadn’t enjoyed it much either, because he kept on thinking that the others were taking no notice of him and trying to give him the cold shoulder. They weren’t, but he imagined it.

I think this phrase is really useful and I learnt it when read this chapter. I also like the following sentence. They weren't, but he imagined it. The word imagine is simple but we may not think of the way of saying it.
Edmund now ventured a little nearer, still keeping in the shadow of the arch as much as he could.
Then very slowly and with his heart beating as if it would burst, Edmund ventured to go up to the lion.
If you venture to do something that requires courage or is risky, you do it.
When it springs at the dwarf then will be my chance to escape.
When a person or animal springs, they jump upward or forward suddenly or quickly.
spring could be used as a verb, which has the same meaning as jump.
