? ? ? 佛羅斯特(1874—1963)美國詩人,1874年3月26日生于舊金山啥刻,1963年1月29日在波士頓逝世奸鸯。他曾徒步漫游許多地方,被認為是新英格蘭的農(nóng)民詩人可帽。弗羅斯特的詩歌最初未引起人們注意府喳。1912年舉家遷居英國,出版了幾種詩集蘑拯,得到好評钝满。1915年回到美國,詩名日盛申窘,獲得4次普利策獎弯蚜。他的詩歌在形式上與傳統(tǒng)詩歌相近,不像浪漫派剃法、唯美派那樣矯揉造作碎捺。不追求外在的美,往往以描寫新英格蘭的自然景色或風土人情開始贷洲,漸漸進入這里的境界收厨,樸實無華,但卻細致含蓄优构,耐人尋味诵叁。
黃色的樹林里分出兩條路,
可惜我不能同時去涉足钦椭,
我在那路口久久佇立拧额,
我向著一條路極目望去,
直到它消失在叢林深處彪腔。
但我卻選了另外一條路侥锦,
它荒草萋萋,十分幽寂德挣,
顯得更誘人恭垦、更美麗,
雖然在這兩條小路上格嗅,
都很少留下旅人的足跡番挺,
雖然那天清晨落葉滿地,
兩條路都未經(jīng)腳印污染吗浩。
呵建芙,留下一條路等改日再見!
但我知道路徑延綿無盡頭懂扼,
恐怕我難以再回返禁荸。
也許多少年后在某個地方右蒲,
我將輕聲嘆息把往事回顧,
一片樹林里分出兩條路赶熟,
而我選了人跡更少的一條瑰妄,
從此決定了我一生的道路。
The Road Not Taken
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
