It's always good to have a place to yourself in a world of bustle and hustle.
Why am I not writing in my mother tongue??
Like many of you, I'm a foreign language learner/lover. But in our daily routine, there aren't that many chances to practice in foreign languages. So here I am.
This is a space I'm ploughing for myself to roam free in foreign languages! I'll write about my life, books, films and music I attach to, places I go and see, thoughts on language learning and translation ?or interpretation, anything I feel like sharing.?
What languages do I speak?
I use mostly English and Chinese, sometimes Japanese when I'm translating. I read and watch programs in English and Japanese to tap into the world beyond. I'm learning German now as a beginner.?
Starting to learn a new language in the adult years gives me an opportunity to experience once again the sheer pleasure of language learning I miss for so long. ?Instead of self-study I'm so good at, Now I tend to communicate more with foreign friends to exchange ideas.?
Is Jianshu a good platform to write?
I start this blog in Jianshu mostly because I want to practice Markdown at the same time. I'll keep on to see if this is gonna work out for me. I'm still a green hand at this. I use douban mostly. But douban seems to be a more intimate and still group of people while I want to reach out.?
Maybe you are like me, an introvert with a passionate heart to read, to know and ponder on things. Writing could be a good channel. P
