2014年春末夏初之際舷嗡,中日兩國就尖閣列島再次爆發(fā)網(wǎng)絡(luò)口水戰(zhàn)钻蔑,林少華轉(zhuǎn)發(fā)環(huán)球時(shí)報(bào)社評《別再仰視日本袭灯,把它看成“亞洲刁民”》应狱,表示為民族大義支持撤書并罷譯日本作品(在村上表態(tài)后又改口否認(rèn))质欲。受到讀者質(zhì)疑時(shí)他回應(yīng)道“我的態(tài)度從不受制于人树埠。此外還想說一句:誰希望我們[內(nèi)亂]?”——犯了傻逼找不著臺(tái)階嘶伟,便轉(zhuǎn)攻心計(jì)怎憋,假模假樣暗示“一小撮別有用心的人”,以民族大義的名義消除異己九昧,從支持涉日書籍下架绊袋,到力捧南懷瑾,到偏聽港島“占中”乃美帝陰毛铸鹰,其人其質(zhì)癌别,科科。
撇開雙商不談蹋笼,就翻譯而言展姐,林少華自認(rèn)當(dāng)下能翻譯好村上春樹者僅他一人。
止庵先生曾貼出《挪威的森林》中玲子彈巴赫賦格曲一句的幾種譯文:
葉惠譯香港版:玲子……慢慢彈起巴哈的賦格曲來剖毯。細(xì)膩的部分故意慢慢彈圾笨、或快快彈、或粗野地彈逊谋、或感傷地彈……
賴明珠譯臺(tái)灣版:玲子姐……慢慢地彈起巴哈的賦格曲擂达。細(xì)微的地方刻意或慢慢地彈、或快速地彈涣狗、或盡情揮灑地彈谍婉、或敏感用情地彈……
林少華譯內(nèi)地版:玲子……緩緩彈起巴赫的賦格曲。細(xì)微之處她刻意求工镀钓,或悠揚(yáng)婉轉(zhuǎn)穗熬,或神采飛揚(yáng),或一擲千鈞丁溅,或愁腸百結(jié)唤蔗。
簡單幾句便可看出,林少華所追求的整體意象和審美效果,聞著就一股自戀味道妓柜。
藤井省三在所著《村上春樹心目中的中國》中認(rèn)為林少華翻譯的《挪威的森林》過于“語體化”,不符合村上原著的“口語化”悲酷,譏諷林譯本“濃妝艷抹”套菜。
周作人批評豐子愷譯《源氏物語》“豐子愷文只是很漂亮,濫用成語舔涎,不顧與原文空氣相合與否笼踩,此上海派手法也。文潔若予以校正亡嫌,但恨欠少嚎于,其實(shí)此譯根本不可用⌒冢”但林少華恰恰最推崇豐子愷譯的《源氏物語》于购,認(rèn)為其“鬼斧神工,曲盡其妙知染,倭文漢譯肋僧,無出其右”。
止庵先生說控淡,“從語言上也能衡量人成熟與否嫌吠,記得我們中學(xué)寫作文特愛用成語,大了以后就不這么用了掺炭。濫用成語辫诅,太多修飾,說穿了是語言上沒長大涧狮。這是我個(gè)人的看法炕矮,但不代表讀者不喜歡么夫。”
最蹩腳的直譯也比最漂亮的意譯有用一千倍——作為一個(gè)采用直譯加注釋方法翻譯了14年《葉甫蓋尼·奧涅金》(共4卷肤视,1200頁档痪,注釋占972頁)的納博科夫說道。
Two grades of evil can be discerned in the queer world of verbal transmigration. The first, and lesser one, comprises obvious errors due to ignorance or misguided knowledge. This is mere human frailty and thus excusable. The next step to Hell is taken by the translator who intentionally skips words or passages that he does not bother to understand or that might seem obscure or obscene to vaguely imagined readers; he accepts the blank look that his dictionary gives him without any qualms; or subjects scholarship to primness: he is as ready to know less than the author as he is to think he knows better. The third, and worst, degree of turpitude is reached when a masterpiece is planished and patted into such a shape, vilely beautified in such a fashion as to conform to the notions and prejudices of a given public. 林少華原是想把《1Q84》作為自己的封筆之作腐螟,誰知1Q84沒讓林少華翻譯,而施小煒的譯本也諸多詬病殊鞭,倆人就此展開多輪撕逼遭垛。要說風(fēng)格上與村上保持一致的尼桶,諸多官媒學(xué)者認(rèn)為賴明珠的翻譯更準(zhǔn)確操灿。

(村上春樹最廣為人知的作品趾盐,除了《挪威森林》外,大概就是《夜半蜘蛛猴》里那篇《午夜的汽笛聲》了小腊。畢竟超短篇要拗出幾個(gè)成語也不容易吧(雖然關(guān)于這部作品評價(jià)不高救鲤,但風(fēng)格可說是非常“村上春樹”了
