There are three major differences between Phoenix and my hometown, Nanjing.?
First, the two cities have very different climates. For example, Nanjing has four different seasons of the year, and Phoenix only has summer all year round; Nanjing is very humid, but Phoenix is very dry; the annual rainfall of Nanjing is much higher than that of Phoenix.?
Second, the history of the two cities is different. To illustrate, Nanjing has a long history which is more than 2,500 years old, and it was the ancient capital of many dynasties in China; Nanjing has a lot of antiquity and cultural relics. Phoenix history is relatively short; it formed in the second half of the 19th century, so it is only more than one hundred years old.?
Third, the vegetation of the two cities is also different. For instance, Nanjing has a lot of trees of more than 100 years old; there are many broad-leaved trees, no saguaros. Phoenix has a lot of tropical small-leaved trees. There are a lot of colorful flowering shrubs, and saguaros are everywhere.?
Living in Phoenix is completely different from living in my hometown, Nanjing.
