Research on Public Production of Private Libraries

[Abstract] Public production of private libraries needs to be strenghed in the fields of theoretical and empirical analysis of private library research.Based on the existing public production theory,three-dimensional orientation and production approach of the public nature of private libraries are proposed.Publicity orientation of organization emphasizes the participants in the sense of organization, that is, the joint intervention of the government,social organizations and other public forces at the management level;publicity orientation of function is positoned to attempt to integrate non profit publicity and profit-making functions;pubilicty orientation of participation shows the integration of actions and aspirations of the individuals.By analyzing the case of Baixiang Bookstore in rural-urban fringe of the city H,it presents the specific strategy,governmance logic and service efficiency of the public production of private libraries.In the future,the developmengt of library reform in China should draw on the useful experience of multiple forces involved in library services,so as to improve the quality and level of library services and promote the integration of urban and rural public cultural services.
