A Donkey was being driven along a road leading down the mountain side, when he suddenly took it into his silly head to choose his own path.
一只驢正被趕著往下山的方向走架忌,愚蠢的驢突發(fā)奇想,要自己選擇下山的路。
He could see his stall at the foot of the mountain, and to him the quickest way down seemed to be over the edge of the nearest cliff.
驢看見了山腳下的馬廄哼丈,而對他而言纵朋,最快的下山方法就是跳向離他最近的懸崖邊緣捞奕。
Just as he was about to leap over, his master caught him by the tail and tried to pull him back, but the stubborn Donkey would not yield and pulled with all his might.
正當(dāng)他向懸崖起跳時容燕,他的主人拉住了他的尾巴琅拌,嘗試著把它拽回來缨伊,但是倔強(qiáng)的驢并沒妥協(xié),用盡全力與主人對抗进宝。
"Very well," said his master,
于是他的主人說道:“好吧刻坊,”
"go your own way, you willful beast, and see where it leads you."
“你跳吧,你這個固執(zhí)的東西党晋,看看你會到哪兒去谭胚。”
With that he let go, and the foolish Donkey tumbled head over heels down the mountain side.
說完趕驢人松開了手未玻,愚蠢的驢子頭朝下摔下了山崖灾而。
Moral
They who will not listen to reason but stubbornly go their own way against the friendly advice of those who are wiser than they, are on the road to misfortune.
寓意:
不聽智者的建議,一意孤行扳剿,終會遭遇不幸旁趟。
