We feel like that there is always someone who supervises us, especially when we behave differently. For instance, you make up while you never did it before; you prefer cold-color wearing, while you are on a red coat today. As a result, you feel uncomfortable the whole day. You become extremely quite in case someone asks about your appearance.
Illusion Of Transparency makes us more stressful since we imagine more attention from others. Once we live in others’ eyes, stress and anxiety will emerge. The difference between ordinary people and celebrity can tell the truth.
Nevertheless, it has positive impact. We will regulate our behavior because of this virtual supervision. This is one of the reasons why crime or misbehavior happens more frequently in places with few people.
It is also the same with the flags we set in the moments of Wechat. How many people will remember what we said and whether we achieve it or not? Few, actually. We feel shame if we fail to do it so it is like a kind of power which pushes ourselves forward.
If the attention of locals can be blocked, will we do as the Romans do?
