Tomorrow is mid-autumn festival, a day for reunion and memory. It's heard that the nostalgic film Our Ten Years?acted by Zhao Liying have got both good and bad reflections these days. However, its topic fits what we'll talk about today.
Recently I walked between the workplace and home, and saw some strangers appeared and disappeared, silently and without intersection. Yet this process touched me.
No.1 The Cleaning Aunt
The first day of September the manager of our building led a new cleaning worker to our office, and told us the former one had quitted. I was so shocked and disappointed for the former aunt was very devoted and conscientious,---- came to the office early everyday and always finished her task before we started working. Thus nobody really 'cared' about the cleanliness because it was always clean to let you forget. Yet she just left without a word,
Yet she just left without a word,?which made me lost and thought that maybe someday someone in your life would disappear suddenly without neither thank or sorry. As the lines in?the movie Life of Pi, 'Life is constantly put down, but the most regret is that we are not too good to say goodbye'. The former aunt, I didn't even know her name, just left our life, lightly and forever. The only left is the feelings she gave to us, careful, diligent, and slight.
We don't know what her story is, and this just remind me of treasuring what you have know and never taking them for granted.
No.2 Pomegranate Juice Seller
On the road back home, every afternoon I would see a mid-aged woman selling her self-made pomegrante juice. With a small three-wheeler filled with fresh pomegranates, many bottles of red juice and a juice extractor, she looked like selling the real fruit juice. Yet the color was too like blood, I tried but never successfully settled mind to ask her how much. I thought she would forever be there selling her red water, however, no idea at which time, all of a sudden I found I had never seen her for a long time.
?I lost the chance forever.
No.3 The Bracelets As Family Heirloom
I saw an old man sitting on the edge of the main street near the subway station for three days. He weared poor but took good care of a pair of bracelets by his feet, which was well placed on a piece of white handkerchief. Each time I saw him lots of thoughts would beat my head, were these bracelets his family heirloom and meant a lot to him? What troubles had he or his family met to force him to sell these? Why not choose a much suitable way and place for selling whatever things at streets would probably undervalued the commodity.
Then same stories happened. One day suddenly, the old man disappeared, with his bracelets and story.?
No.4 The Ballet Dancer in Clothes
The girl was just in a glance of me. She's telephoning when I passed through her. I noticed that her legs and feet placed as a professional ballet dancer. That's a little weird to see a normal walker doing this, but not on the stage. I guessed her job, and admired the elegance she showed, even it was only seconds and a small behavior.
A graceful shape is a gift for the girls.
No.5 The Michael Jackson Mimic
The young boy mimic Michael dancing at the square near my home every night. He danced very well, or very like Michael himself. I was expressed that there're a group of people who have even died for many years, people alive could still benefit from them. Cao Xueqin, or MJ, many examples.?
Yesterday I noticed there was a piece of cloth in front of the dancing boy, which said he was an orphan with dancing dreams, and wish the good-heart strangers could help him.
That reminded me of a short video, a blind man was begging with a bulletin 'Please Help Me', and few people did him a favor. A passing fashion girl saw this and changed his content to 'This is a beautiful world but I cannot see it', and this small action changed everything. ?Everyday I saw beggars,
Everyday I saw beggars, and I felt the urge to do the same thing as the young girl. Selling how you're miserable is becoming harder and harder to intrigue people's empathy. The young boy's dancing was excellent, and I once thought to give money as a respect to art, just as I often do to the musicians in the underground passage, yet what he did made me lost the interest.?
Am I becoming a cold-blooded person? I don't know.
No.6 The Man in the Wheelchair
The last role is a young man in the wheelchair. This city is not friendly enough for the disabled, and thus few of them would appear publicly. Yet I saw this man several times to 'walk' around the street, either smilling or talking with the cellphone equipment on his chair. I appreciate him and wish more people could be open like him.?
Even there are still stranges eyes on you, so what? 'Walk your own way and let others be', I believe Dante's words is not only for the disabled.
