Do you know knitting? I bet that most of you, the young generation do not know it. You grow up in a more wealthy time, you can easily get many many fashion styles in the shops in the malls. The red " ON SALE" marks every where.
In hard time people specially the wives in each family must do sewing , knitting to keep warm. But today people do knitting is just a hobby, to fulfill their creativity or design idea.
When I was six years old, I could knit yarns. I sat before the door knitting yarns. Our neighbors were so surprised when they saw I was knitting, they cried to my mother, ‘hi, your daughter is knitting, how can she do that?’ My mother replied calmly, ‘ yes, she can do that when she was born.’
When I was seven years old, I dreamed of that I could knit a sweater totally by my own design. But my mom , she didn’t agree. She thought I would waste yarns. So I was so eager to have some yarns belonging to myself. I dreamed of that I could have my own yarns.
I remember that my mom had a big box in which she put many yarns, new yarns or any leftover yarns. So I wanted to have my own box because I was not allowed to get any yarns from mom.
One day my aunt told that she had an old sweater she did not want to keep. So I could own and wash it then I could get the yarns for myself. I was very happy to get it. That means I could knit any product any pattern by myself!
My first product was a pair of gloves for myself. It was too complicated to finish it. I almost wanted to give it up. My mom taught me and encouraged me to finish it. I was so happy to see my first product. What a pity I had no camera to take a photo of it or I did not keep it till now.
After that I accomplished some more products, such as socks, vests, caps, scarves, some for myself, some for my family members, some for uncle’s sister’s doll.
Knitting , this hobby really gave me much happiness at that time. When I was a university student, I wanted to knit a vest for my first boyfriend, the first love. What a pity again, I never knitted it.
In fact today knitting is a fashion, vogue, like many kinds of DIY, it means do it yourself. I think you know cross stitch . Girls are crazy about it. Woman can make very fashionable sweater using various and beautiful yarns. It is fashion you make yourself. There are many knitting café and yarn shops in shanghai now.
Now women like knitting, it is a good way to relax, to forget pressure from your work. It can let you cool down, it can tell your feeling towards people you love because you put your feeling in every stitch each inch. It is not only a hobby but also a magnificent art form. It is very very natural for a woman to do knitting.
The funny from knitting, the advantages of knitting could not be expressed clearly.I have never lost my enthusiasm in it.
Let us image, when a girl loves a boy, how could she express her feeling from her heart?
A woman will be a mother, she is preganant, she is waiting for her child’s coming, she is knitting for the first time, she is very happy at that moment and she is beautiful as the love feeling comes completely from her heart.
What can express the feeling of a mother for her family? A knitted dog? A flower? An embroider? Any yarns product can tell the guest there is a wam family. Don’t you think these kind of material touch your sensitive feeling?
People always think Knitting is a traditional work but never think it is also a good exercise.Scientists have already proven that knitting is a good exercise to reduce the disease such as Altzheimer's disease.The study said knitting can let women keep a clear mind, keep women in good health when they are getting old, away from a senile mind.
Knitting is a group activity. Women are gathering in the yarn shop, chatting, knitting, learning the new parttern , knowing the fashion , and releasing their emotions. It is a good social activity.
Now we live in a modern city, the competition in work, this fast change world , many women are getting worried or can not control their temple very easily. Knitting is a good way to keep their peace and enjoy the beautiful life.
