Last night炕矮，I was invited by Davie to support the General Evaluator role of Microsoft Toastmasters Club. And luckily I got a table topics chance, thanks to table topics master Chaochao and also Davie who pushed me to the stage. Normally when I was taking a role, I gave myself a excuse not running for a table topics chance. See, staying out of table topics is my comfort zone, I should try to get out of the zone by self willpower.
The theme of last night is about imagination and innovation, and I got the question 'How do you use innovation at work?'
I tried to transfer the 'work' to 'work in toastmasters' because I do think that I had more innovations when I was in toastmasters than in real work. Because working as a data warehouse engineer doesn't need a lot of innovations, I just need to get things done. But I didn't deal with the transfer very well, I expressed some negative emotions which I think should never happens in my future table topics speeches. For example I said I hated my job, so there's nothing I want to talk about it, what a nerd.
If I got a chance to answer this question again, I would try the following words:
Hello everyone, I currently work as a VPPR in Beijing Zhongguancun Toastmasters Club. It is a job which needs a lot of innovations. Also that's the reason why I run for the position VPPR.
First I tried to make some innovations in posters. I was always working for some new ideas to make our posters remarkable. For example I once tried spot the difference(找茬) game when I was preparing for a poster, which turned out draw a lot of attention.
Secondly, I tried to make some innovations in promotion of ZGCTMC. I wrote 簡書 articles to introduce our club. I also registered an account in 今日頭條 to make the promotion.
I think as long as I have the passion in my VPPR work, I will use the weapon innovation to reach a higher level at work. I love innovation.
