Why exist guardians of usage?
to keep the language from the sloppy word
to help the language grow by welcoming any immigrant that will bring strength or color
What is good usage?
to separate usage from jargon.
to separate good English from technical English.
to express myself clearly and simply to someone else by using good words
How to learn to use ？
force yourself to produce a certain number of words on a regular basis.
II. Unity
構(gòu)造藍圖铛楣、建造自己思維的大廈：明確自己想寫的呀狼，并想清楚如何表達.
一.明確自己想寫的：
Think small：從小處著手妙蔗、落實到細節(jié)束昵，什么都想寫可能什么都沒寫清楚
Corner of your subject: 明確表達中心度气。（如小學開始寫作文時老師說的圍繞文章中心思想寫巩那，不要跑題）
Earnestness, understatement and humor：誠摯墨榄、低調(diào)和幽默的語言
二. 清楚準確的表達：
Pronoun：人稱
Tense：時態(tài)玄糟，以一條主要時態(tài)為線索進行描寫。
Mood：語氣袄秩，結(jié)合自己所表達的主題的特點選一種阵翎。
??Don't become the prisoner of a preconceived plan. 意料之外逢并，情理之中。寫作郭卫，一切提筆前應有所思考構(gòu)建藍圖砍聊，但不可囿于構(gòu)思
III. Phrase
Writing is no respecter of blueprints.
it satisfies your readers' subconscious need for order and reassures them that all is well at the helm.
helm：the wheel or control which guides a ship or boat 名詞 船舵
?? at the helm：in charge of something:
例：We have a new prime minister at the helm.
?? take the helm：to start being in charge of something such as a business ororganization:
例：Wright took the helm at the food retailer in December 2001.
Today I still receive ballots from The American Heritage Dictionary soliciting my opinion on new locutions
Solicit 正式 to ask someone for money, help, orinformation:
例：Morgan is accused of illegally soliciting campaign contributions.
?? solicit something from somebody
例：The governor sent two officials to Mexico City to solicit aid from thePresident.
It's a truism, but what makes it a truism is that it's true.
truism：a statement that is clearly true, so that there is no need to say it:

例：His speech was just a collection of clichés and truisms.
IV.Thought
you would be exercising your powers of putting the English language on paper, gaining confidence and identifying the most common problems.
Zinsser說當你在報社工作半年后，你的用的詞匯自然就對了贰军。因為強迫自己去寫去改玻蝌，并在不斷糾錯中發(fā)現(xiàn)常見錯誤，也會增加自己的自信词疼「┦鳎看到這句話的時候，給自己開始懈怠的回譯練習找到了動力贰盗。想提高寫作许饿，要有東西寫，還要能修正反饋童太，半月前采用Eric很久之前提的的回譯提高英文寫作米辐，選用讀過的Peak胸完，每天2-3段漢譯英再根據(jù)原版修改书释，剛開始新鮮感，漸漸覺得很枯燥赊窥，有些簡單的話自己譯出來就是和原文有點區(qū)別爆惧，第十天開始有點懈怠就開始安慰自己“就當學作者怎么說話嘛，畢竟英語是他的母語”锨能，所以讀到這段時有點慰藉扯再，這不就是是最近堅持回譯練習的過程嘛，漢譯英再修改錯誤址遇，因為文本不難很多所以都是語序的問題和一些選詞熄阻，一句話作者就不是我這么說的。昨和今天閱讀中找到了繼續(xù)回譯練習的動力倔约，繼續(xù)堅持吧秃殉。
