Part 1：遲到的原因
There are various reasons for being late.
didn't hear the alarm=沒有聽到鬧鐘響
For example:
She overslept because she didn't hear her alarm.
oversleep=睡過頭了
oversleep的過去式：overslept
For example:
I overslept this morning.
I slept right through the alarm.
The alarm didn't go off.
鬧鐘根本沒有想藻雌。
If the alarm doesn't go off,you probably won't get up until you naturally wake up.
鬧鐘沒有響的話框冀，你大概就會睡到自然醒了。
I wanted to be on time,but I spent too much time deciding what to wear.
哎述雾，我也不想遲到，可是選衣服選了半天，結(jié)果就遲到了。
underestimate=低估
For example:
You underestimate the time needed.
up to 40 minutes=多達40分鐘
For example:
You may think you only need 20 minutes to finish a task,but actually it can take up to 40 minutes.
I left my phone at home and had to go back.
laptop=筆記本電腦
For example:
I forgot my laptop at home and had to go back.
I went the wrong way.
I took the wrong bus.
I went to the wrong place.
Actually people can easily get lost when they go to a new place.
sense of direction=方向感
For example:
You have a bad sense of direction.
end up doing sth.=以牵辣。摔癣。奴饮。告終
For example:
Sometimes,even though we leave home early and go the right way,we still end up being late.
有時纬向，雖然咱們出門早，也沒有走錯路戴卜，但最終還是遲到了逾条。
worse是bad的比較級
much worse than usual=和往常相比糟糕許多
For example:
The traffic wa much worse than usual.
The cars were moving very slowly.
今天交通很擁堵：
The traffic was bad today.
The traffic was heavy today.
The traffic was terrible today.
traffic jam=交通堵塞
For example:
There was a traffic jam.
我堵在路上了：
I got stuck in traffic.
I got caught in traffic.
I got held up in traffic.
be supposed to do sth.-應該做某事；預期做某事
For example:
Bu No.38 was supposed to come at 8:40,but it was 5 minutes late.
I was supposed to arrive at 10 o'clock.
delay=延遲
For exmaple:
My flight was delayed and I missed my meeting.
Her car didn't start because its battery was dead.
因為電池沒電了投剥，她的車無法啟動师脂。
break down=出故障了
For example:
My car broke down.
The bus broke down.
The subway broke down.
parking place=停車位
For example:
I couldn't find a parking place.
Part 2：遲到了怎么辦
as the saying goes=俗話說，常言道
For example:
As the saying goes,better late than never.
Tip 1：提前打電話道歉
I'm sorrry,but I am running late.
I'm afraid that I'm going to be late for work/the meeting/the interview.
個人原因：
I overslept.
I went the wrong way.
I left my phoneeeeee at home and had to go back.
客觀原因：
There was a traffic jam.
My flight was delayed.
The subway broke down.
Tip 2：告知對方什么時候能到
I'll be there in 5 minutes.
It's hard to say,but I'll be there as soon as possible.
Tip 3：彌補錯誤-工作遲到
Sorry,I was late.This won't happen again.I'll finish my work on time.
I'm terribly sorry.I won't late again.I'll be working late tonight.
Tip 3：彌補錯誤-面試遲到
I'm sorry,but I'm normally on time.

Try to make the most of your time.

I'll treat you to a movie.
Part 3：如何避免遲到
Tips：
Put your alarm on the other side of room.
Set multiple alarms.
pack the bag=整理包包
set out the clothes=準備好衣服
You are your own worst enemy.
你最大的敵人就是自己江锨。
