Nowadays a large amount of advertising aimed at children should be banned because of its negative effects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Many advertising are children-oriented since the young generation constitutes an ever increasing part of the consumption market. But some argue these advertisements must banned on account of the negative impacts on kids. I can only partially agree with this statement.
Advertisements should and must be banned only for hen they are trying to sell things that will do harm to children. Certain nicely-pitched and packaged food products actually contain poisonous substance or overdose of additives fall into this category since inexperienced kids may not be able to discern the trick. We need also impose stringent regulations on those ads with hints of misleading values or inappropriateness that go against children’s well-being. Those involving sexual, violent, racist or sexist views in the representation? of an advert must be opt out.
However, many advertisements are conducive to children and should therefore be encouraged. Through this kind of marketing, a product’s nature and function can be smoothly rendered in an artistic form, activating multiple senses from the young audience. A kid can thus immediately increase his or her knowledge concerning the production, utility and advantages of the product as well as the related technological developments. When it comes to keeping a pupil curious about a subject, the omnipresent advertisements serve as effective and real-world learning material. Needless to say, a good piece of ad is the result of a capable team including engineer, designer, artist and actor or actress. Some of the most stunning ads are already taken as effective teaching materials in art and design school. These often elegantly-displayed products will undoubtedly facilitate kids’ cognitive growth.?
To sum up, one should resist the temptation to ban any advertisement aimed at children indiscriminately. While those with pernicious contents or views should be strictly prohibited, others, especially with aesthetic value in themselves, need to be encouraged instead.
