My daughter has grown up from ?a baby into a little guy who has got her own opinions and preference. How time flies by! Usually we don't realize the elapse of time until we become parents seeing the growth of our children.?
The first day we sent her to the kindergarten, we all have lots of worries on the mind, feeling anxious about her adaptability in the group living. I still remember clearly her excitement about the coming school life. She got up at 6 in the morning and couldn't wait to go to the kindergarten. Maybe because I once told her stories and bought her picture books about how interesting and beautiful the kindergarten life is, she had a lot of good fancies about it.?
After breakfast, her grandfather walked behind, carrying her bedding and matress previously handed out by the kindergarten used for her noon break, and her grandmother and I walked in the front, accompanying my daughter to the kindergarten. While the little guy ran and jumped for joys, carrying her schoolbag by herself. Though it's a long way from home to school, she insisted on completing the whole journey by herself on foot. In the kindergarten, after we communicated with her teacher, I said goodbye to my daughter and she just waved her little arms saying goodbye without turning back her head, instantly immersing herself into the playing of toy bricks. About the noon time, I received a telephone call from her teacher, who said everything went well for my daughter's first half day except her several cries for the grandmother. And the teacher said it was normal for children who went to the kindergarten in the first day to cry since they must experience a fluctuation period of the affection.
That day seemed exceptionally long both for my daughter and for us. Finally in the afternoon, her grandparents went to school to pick her up. She appeared calm but changed her mind by resisting to go to the kindergarten again next day. When we asked her the reason why, she just listed lots of real or unreal excuses, such as " I don't like the teacher, the time is too long, one boy hits me, the game is not interesting" and so on. What the funny thing is that my daughter is a little miser, despite her resolute rejection to the kindergarten, she still feels upset ?thinking of her bedding and matress left in the school. So she cried and strongly begged her grandma fetching back her personal belonging from the kindergarten.
This also gave us an excuse when we persuaded her to school the next day: no school, no bedding and matress. Your personal belonging would be confiscated by the teacher. Luckily, though my daughter was full of anxieties considering the kindergarten at bedtime and tried to evade school on the next day morning, we still succeeded sending her to school. And when the school was over, we found her in a happy mood sharing her experiences with us including drawing a picture, playing trampoline and singing songs. We were a little relieved by the good signs.?
I know she still need some time to fully adapt to the kindergarten life. However, I believe she will finally like the group living and become a good student. ?For me, every day after work, seeing her happy little face and listening to her talking about the interesting schoollife will be the biggest spiritual comfort.
My little guy, I hope you can both live happily and learn new things in your kindergarten life. Just enjoy it like you will enjoy the future beautiful life ahead.
