It's been four days since my second boy came into this world. Despite the fact that I suffered a lot in giving him a Caesarean birth, it's all worth it as long as he was delivered safely. When the doctors said he was too big to be estimated in size, my husband and I were panicked. I never thought I would receive a surgical operation in giving birth. But on hearing what the doctors said, I got prepared.
On the morning of December 7, my baby were beginning to give me signs to come out. And luckily the date I decided on receiving the operation fell on the same day.
The room where I lay in bed, waiting for the operation, was not that cozy and pleasant as I had expected. As my labor pains grew stronger, I wanted to be relieved of all this by being cut quickly in the abdomen. However, that day the anesthesiologist was so sick that she couldn't perform her duty. What? I was nearly hopeless when they told me I had to wait another half hour. With no option, I had to relieve the pain by adjusting my breath again and again.
At the same time, the relatives waiting outside were anxious since they didn't know what hampered my operation. Finally they performed the operation quickly on me, stirring my organs and pulling my son out of my womb. Then I could feel they were stitching the cuts. With the anesthetic still working, I could control the bad effects well such as the nauseous feeling. They told me he was 5220 g. A big surprise!
Compared with the natural birth, it's really a short process. But when I returned to the ward surrounded by the relatives and transferred to the ward bed with the help of two strong men, the real suffering was just around the corner.
As for the numb feeling caused by the anesthetic, it was gone quickly in about one hour, and it's great to feel myself again in my feet and legs. A lot of thanks to the rest of the family who were always there comforting and helping.
The climax was that several doctors and nurses would come to press your abdomen to help you quickly get rid of the waste blood in the womb. I knew they meant to be helpful, but the pain was so extreme that I couldn't bear it without yelling and screaming. I think maybe that's the most embarrassing moment in all my life.
Then I spent the first sleepless night moaning in the agony of afterpains. I was shrouded in the shade of those hands that want to press my abdomen. Oh, unbearable pain.
Besides, from the day I checked in at the hospital, my wrists and arms are dotted with one small hole after another by injection or intravenous infusion. The torture was far less than that of the abdomen pressing. But they made me unhappy because they restrained me from walking around freely.
Then the second day was marked with the removal of the catheter. I felt myself a little closer to being normal again. Urged by the nurses, I forced myself to drink plenty of water and finally urinate before they take other actions on me. On the other hand, to accelerate emptying the waste blood in the womb, I struggled to my feet as early as possible after the catheter's removal, in case those hands came to press on me again.
On the first two days, my mother and my husband spent a lot of time in brewing the milk powder for the baby. Fortunately, on the third day, I have enough milk myself. So feeding the baby becomes easier. To be exact, my milk was more than enough. I even have to milk myself every time the boy was satisfied. The doctors changed medicine on my cuts and they estimated according to the state of my cuts and my womb that I recovered well. I was happy for the encouragement and so I decided to do more slow walking within the ward to recover more quickly. What's more, I finally farted in the evening, which means I can gradually eat what a normal person eats.
On the fourth day, everything went smoothly except that I still felt painful in my cuts. I did everything taking care not to stir the cuts but often in vain. Mostly, I had to sit upright in bed to feed the baby, though harassed by the pain. To my delight, all the intravenous infusions were announced unnecessary by the general physician. I could get rid of those annoying tubes. And to my embarrassment, I finally made a bowel movement. Wow, four days without emptying waste, a weird and uncomfortable experience! But anyway, I made it. >_>
Another three days later, I will return to our cozy home together with my second son. And a scroll of a happy family of four is just spreading ahead.
