The way Gadamer described the discreditation of prejudice in Enlightenment and the rehabilitation of authority and tradition in later stage is so thrilling!! How prejudice was put against reason, how the prejudice of authority was justified and how the Romantics rebelled against absolute reason with tradition...... Such history not only explained the objectification tradition in research of human science, but also illustrated its ridicules. There is no "object in itself" in human science research. Historical research is carried along by the historical movement of life itself and cannot be understood teleologically in terms of the object into which it is inquiring. We are always situated within history.
